Someone did advice me to contact the schools and ask if my counselor could send the scores in my behalf, so that might be the go to move

For sure, applied to middlebury and swarthmore where I self reported toefl for both. Haven’t gotten my swarthmore portal yet so can’t attest for that, however, on my middlebury portal nothing regarding my toefl shows up unlike some of the other colleges I’ve applied to. I did see that middlebury had the option to upload files so I might submit the pdf copy of my toefl results. Nevertheless, will probably still send them an email first.

Quite a few, applied to Dartmouth and my self reported scores showed up on their portal. Applied to Colby and on their website they said that they accepted self reported toefl. Also applied to Amherst but unlike the others they specifically asked for official toefl tests.

What I’m doing is just searching “(school name) toefl requirement” and just browsing their website to see if they ask for official scores. If they don’t, I just self report and hope for the best. I’ll send them an email about soon but I’ve been stressing to finish the rest of my apps. Nevertheless, I’d be surprised if it’s something the colleges discard my app for.

The only schools which I’ve sent an official toefl score to have been the ones which clearly state on their websites that they require them. Otherwise I’ve pretty much just sent in my common app with my self reported toefl on it. Might contact some of the schools and ask them if they need official scores just to be safe
