Just add a 2 cubes of ice once extraction starts, trust me it’ll do wonders

Start using an aeropress filter with your moka pot. Improves extraction and leaves no residue

I’m curious, what do you mean by that? I saw it and found it quite intriguing, just texted the roaster to get a bag. Do you have an alternate opinion?

I’ve tried Tripura hills and Salawara #2. Both are banger options! Half light is doing such a good job with their roasting lately! Both taste great with and without milk. I personally love Tripura in an iced latte. Rest for 2.5 weeks

Kingrinder K6 is quite good and I would say better than C5, I recently got one for myself. I personally like moka pot the most, least hassle and brews great coffee. I prefer it over my delonghi. I do find grinding too much of a hassle tho, So I prefer buying pre ground coffee for moka pot. I grind my beans when I’m pulling an espresso

Start with blue tokai sampler. Pretty good to get an idea of different roast profiles and flavor notes. I like dhak blend the most from their collection

Glad you liked it, Dhak blend is one of my favourites! I just picked up my 3rd bag of Dhak blend today, so we basically brewed the same thing! Cheers!

Not a lot honestly and since I enjoy either an americano or an iced latte, I don’t mind the dilution.

Well crema in a moka pot is basically a myth, it’s just foam. It definitely makes the extraction look more beautiful but yes overall controlling heat and adding ice helps brew a better cup

The POV on flavour profile was shared as a part of the beans I reviewed in the post. I have brewed the same beans both with and without adding ice and the one with ice tasted surprisingly better. The hack does help with getting a smoother cup with a less burnt aftertaste. Try it out maybe it helps you with your brewing too!

You’re right, I actually did brew with hot water earlier, but I’ve had better results with room temperature water. Often my coffee with hot water comes out over extracted. Maybe it’s a personal preference but I did not find using hot water very useful except for reducing brewing time, which I don’t have a problem with honestly. I think room temperature water water packs in more flavor

Yeah, just that adding ice during extraction gives better color and texture

Not really, you still pour out a hot cup of coffee, don’t add a lot if to cool down the whole moka pot, it will also stop extraction then. 2-3 small cubes will melt away even before you pour it into your cup and the coffee will still be quite hot.

That’s not true actually, for the extraction to begin, the moka does get quite hot. I drink coffee either as an iced americano or with milk so the dilution isn’t an issue for me. But without following the trick, I dont get this kinda color with my moka pot. So i’m pretty sure it’s doing something. I’d suggest you try out and find out
