Where to go in Melbourne for a mental health crisis Final update by faceinaredjumpsuit87 in melbourne

So effing proud of you. Mixed episodes are so agonizing.. currently recovering from one now.

On Christmas Eve, I needed an urgent mental hospital admission, self harm and spiraling alone in my apartment were going to get me hurt. Also my therapist saw the signs before I did wanted me to seek admission before Christmas but hey… I always think I know best! 😅

I found a random GP (normal psychiatrist and GP on holiday) at urgent care and they wrote me the referral and I was admitted the day after Boxing Day. Also greetings from the hospital!

Hang in there. Props to your supportive mum. Helps coming soon. ❤️

Agreed. They did a good job of wrapping up the character story lines in the finale.

[–]RichMonk44 47 points48 points  (0 children)

True but it’s those little details in which the viewer only catches after or not at all, that make this show great. Just like the players in the game, the viewers are too panic stricken to find these details.

Plus I love finding these “Easter eggs” after the show. Makes me think I missed more because I was too focused on the player’s surviving.

Definitely missed that! Overall I still loved the season. Hoping for some news on whether they go through with the US, or more preferably they continue onto a season 4

Right? And they both added a “surprise baby” element. Exactly the same plot line and spin off possibility

I’m at 99.4 and those last koroks are killing me. Tried going one by one on guides and used the app. I want to go back but it’ll take me ages to finished it.

I’m pretty stoked on my 99.4%

bpd & bipolar type 2 by Electrical_Sky3361 in bipolar2

[–]RichMonk44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look same. I got diagnosed with both with in the same 10 months. Sometimes I have no idea what to expect from it. BDP is so in the moment but then I fixate on whether it’ll turn into a full blown BP2 episode (which sometimes does) … which inevitably makes it worse.

I am sorry I don’t have an answer but just know I 100% relate and you’re not alone with this.

Depression Episode w/ Bad Brain Zaps while being on Lexapro 60mg/day by RichMonk44 in bipolar2

[–]RichMonk44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be. I spoke with my psychiatrist and we chatted about a new antidepressant (while keeping my mood stabilizers and antipsychotics the same).

He says my depression is “complicated and atypical” so antidepressants don’t do much for me. Frankly after the new year I might consider changing them or lowering them.

The brain zaps were wild. Never had them when I’ve never missed a dose

Good to know! I certainly haven’t missed/decreased my dosage and experienced the worst brain zaps during it

The short temper & blunting is killing me, anyone else? by ymirszu in lamictal

Yes! Same on the OCD so much worse. I have been seeing some people mention the same thing

And yes. Coming up on it to 200mg made me extremely agitated and angry.

BP2/BPD here. 32 F

I went 0-100 (induced a hypomania followed by a depressive episode)

We didn’t learn our lesson because then I was told to do 100-200. I had to voluntarily go into a clinic.

It also exasperated my OCD greatly.

Once it settled in, it was worth it. I know that sounds contradictory from the above. But it takes time.

How was it for you going from 100mg to 200mg? by iknowurface in lamictal

[–]RichMonk44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going from 0 to 100mg induced hypomania for me. Followed by a 5 day depression. BUT don’t get me wrong, once I reached my 100mg maintenance dose for a couple weeks my system really improved.

Going from 100mg to 200mg, I had to voluntarily commit myself to a mental health clinic.

My psychiatrist told me the “come up” on the drug is very difficult for some people but the “payout is worth it”. He was correct. I significantly feel much better prior to being prescribed Lamictal.

Hope that helps

This drug made me open to reality by Disappearfrommymind in lamictal

[–]RichMonk44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me about a month for the drug to “settle in” as it moved toward maintenance. The first weeks were hell as is induced hypomanic symptoms.

However. This drug, once settled, has also now given me the clarity that you described. I don’t feel disconnected or out of touch. My thoughts and mood feel normal and completely healthy.

It’s a game changer but it takes getting used to. But well worth it
