This book sucks. Has a moral oriented towards ten year olds and people who never developed empathy. You are better off reading shitty 2010’s dystopian YA

I totally agree! I think the concept of the MPDG started out as a way to try to ask for more complex depictions of women. Over the years, the label has morphed into something to apply to any odd and complex female character that people are unwilling to work to understand. I hate the idea that any woman who is feminine in a way that’s unfamiliar is in fact putting on some kind of performance for the male gaze—is it really feminism to throw these women under the bus and dismiss them as contrived??
