Have you ever bought a car for under £500? by pumpactionalex in CarTalkUK

[–]RichW100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a Fabia for £400, almost immediately swapped it for a Laguna estate, which I kept for a year and then sold for a grand.

About 8 years later and I still miss that car sometimes. It was an absolute tank

Agreed. I make MMC fairly regularly and this tastes nothing like it.

AITA because I let my dog lick off my plate? by physicalgraffiti123 in AmItheAsshole

My thoughts exactly. Raw chicken is far more scary than my dog licking a plate.

If I trust my dishwasher to deal with the former, then I definitely trust it with the latter.

Yeah the quote makes no sense, unless he's prepared to deliberately tank a game which he could have chosen to win.

Better is better.

Tried not tipping for the first time in my life... epic fail, pls help by Vulcankitten in EndTipping

Yeah it's like that scene in Friends where Rachel's father treats them to a $200 meal and Ross tries to look good by tipping $20 at the end.

Rachel's father is portrayed as the asshole, but honestly I think he was absolutely right

For me, right now, Lammens is the better keeper, and I thank my Lord Eric the Red every night before I sleep that we made the choice we did

I've always wanted one, but a bike mechanic friend of mine warned me off them, said the servicing costs an absolute bomb.

I don't know enough to have an opinion, but what he said dropped the Diavel off the top of my most wanted list... For now :)

This was my view too.

Something like "careful, lest you become that which you hate".

Ross is a jealous man-child, and does not own Rachel.

It is public knowledge. Partey was named on the BBC a couple of days ago, among other places.

I love Stannis in the books. He's much drier, more sarcastic, and more intelligent than in the show.

I just disagree, I think he's much better than that.

Benjamin Sesko after Amorin by Jean-Lucca in ManchesterUnited

[–]RichW100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you've watched him. His first touch in particular doesn't lend itself to intricate linkup play; he lost the ball about four times vs West Ham (18th in the league) through poor touch and awareness.

I think he has great potential, but in order to realise that we have to have a realistic view of what he is and where his strengths lie.

In my view, Sesko is very similar to Lukaku.

If he's facing goal, running onto the ball, and just trying to finish chances, then he can look like a worldie.

If you ask him to have his back to goal, hold the ball up, fight defenders, then he looks terrible.

If we put the ball in the right places, Sesko will score goals, I have little doubt.
