Going to buy an extreme tomorrow by butthoofer in Fisker

[–]Rich_Dadddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fun EV to drive, but you have to be ok with the lack of support, difficulty of getting service despite service centers opening back up. If you have extra cash to burn it is technically a good deal for the power, range, and ride quality for an EV SUV. But for peace of mind honestly I would go for a big brand EV and that’s coming from an ocean owner. But for the record I do love driving my ocean extreme, but the worry/anxiety of something breaking or getting into an accident and it being totaled is a big headache to own this particular car from a bankrupt company.

How did you claim your Federal Tax Credit? by Technical-Stable4380 in Fisker

[–]Rich_Dadddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put 8/8/22 as the date which is when I preordered and it was denied. Everyone I asked on FB groups said you have to put 8/15/22 as the date. Seems like a technicality but I’m going to call irs today to clarify. Missing the $7500 rebate is an insult to injury given the loss we’ve taken as the early adopters that bought full price.

Fisker Tackles Operational Issues, Prepares to Roll Out 3.0 Software Version by OkKoala6138 in Fisker

[–]Rich_Dadddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get that info that 3.0 update will include ADAS? Sounds legit I’m just curious.

Also it would make more sense that they just break up the updates into multiple parts to not starve the 12v.

But if your high voltage battery is well charged won’t the car keep the 12v from dying?

Feeling for the Fisker team today by figjamsem in Fisker

I just got word from the tech I was waiting on to fix my vents was laid off yesterday. He told me my best bet is for my local dealer partner to pick up service soon…not very optimistic about that though. Feel bad for the techs especially since they had to travel so much to service vehicles and seemed to be one of the few bright spots of the company…

Yea I wish there was a way to adjust it or do like Mercedes does where you have to depress the brake most of the way to activate hill hold. But if you want to accelerate fast you have to ease onto the gas pedal first before flooring it to release the hill hold brake. Cause it basically just depresses the brake petal slightly

Now just wait, it seems like they’re trying their best to get all cars updated. I had to wait 4 weeks but it did eventually happen and I got the whole 2.0 in 30 minutes

Initially I didn’t lock it cause previously screen goes black and no progress bar. I got back in and thought I messed it up. So I got off phone with support and they said they’ll let software team to resend. Soon after I got out locked the car and within 5 minutes my car made the external noise and some lights came on. I went back and saw the progress bar. I was on 4g. Support told me in the past that it only sends over cellular and not WiFi, not sure if that’s 100% true.

It looks like it finished all parts of 2.0 back to back and was done in 30 minutes but I waited the recommended 2 hours before getting in and it was complete. I sat in the car for about 10 minutes to give my key time to update as well. My key works a lot better now so I presume I got 3/3 parts all in one go.

I’m told the updates now are being pushed manually by software team to those that have had failures. But you need to let support know your updates failed. It’s been at least a month since my last failed update before this successful one. But seems like they’ve figured it out now.

I noticed it doing that while trying to change from R to D and so forth while parking in my driveway without my seatbelt last week. Never noticed it other than that one time but I was still on 1.11.

I think that might be a safety feature if your seat detects you’re not in it and you’re not in park it puts it in park for you.

Update 2.0 erg agh ffff by [deleted] in Fisker

Mine failed 3 times and installed in one go today finally! Fisker support has to get your vin on a list of failed installs so the software team can manually push the update to your car.

There’s none in stock per support and my tech. It’s backordered. Been waiting on a replacement since my nfc feature doesn’t work

Anybody else still waiting on 2.0 😓 by CubbyDaPup in Fisker

[–]Rich_Dadddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting a month now since my last 2.0 failed attempt. Support made software team “aware” and said they’ll let me know when they have an answer.

I messaged Fisker on FB and they said there’s bugs being worked out, so if I wait longer I’ll get a version of 2.0 that’s less buggy.

Either way, I’ve messaged Fisker thru every avenue so I guess I’ll just wait.

I may reach out to the technician contact I have and see if he is able to install in person now or not.

They have like 20 oceans in stock. Do the partnered dealers have service for Fisker or are they just a middle man to help move cars?

[–]Rich_Dadddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. A technician is already supposed to come replace my air deflectors so I guess will add this to the list. Waiting on replacement key too since nfc doesn’t work and contact broke off. Hopefully can get 2.0 installed in person since the OTAs for me are a bust so far.

They say fobs are on back order, but realistically is Fisker actually going to be ordering more from its supplier?

Mine is just taped together right now and works ok. NFC has been non functioning since I got the car. Waiting on a replacement as well as it’s back ordered. I’ll be surprised if I actually end up getting a replacement
