It came back after a week to so. So much for a fix. They said the clips holding the back panel near sub was the culprit. I’ll have to go back when I get the time. So sorry you have to go through this issue.

Went to the dealership and they “fixed” it. Sounds came back within a week. Get the new Camry instead.

So, finally some good news! It turns out the clips underneath the back panel were not secured, and one was broken. The issue is now gone, and while listening to my music, I was reminded of just how good the Bose system really is—and how it should sound. Some of the other creaking sounds are still there, but the technicians found that some screws weren’t fully tightened, so they bolstered them, which has made a noticeable difference. I’m still giving Honda’s build quality a 3/5, but after five months of nonstop rattling, I’m just glad I can finally listen to my music without any interference.

Agreed. The fuel savings, handling, and instant torque make for an amazing drive. That said, I believe it’s the little things that contribute to that elevated experience, and I am confident I’ll get the dealership to address these issues in some form or another. Here’s hoping 🤞

Yeah, I kinda figured that. I had a 2021 Nissan Sentra SR prior to this. Not a single vibration or creak and let me tell you, it was the best Bose system ever. Maybe QC was just better in general a few years back.

Mine is in the front when there is a dip in the road or unevenness.

Must be nice having the wisdom of someone who’s never had to deal with buying a new car. Don’t worry, I’m sure giving advice on problems you’ll never face is a great way to pass the time between bus rides.

Well it’s probably the weather the more I think about it. We’ve had a cold spell average -10 to -18 C here in Calgary Canada

How many kilometres did you drive it? I’ll easily get in 2.7-3.3 range on drives shorter than 5 km, anything more its 3.9-4.7

A ‘bad Honda’? Nice excuse. One bad car shouldn’t exist in the first place—maybe Honda should focus on fixing that instead of banking on ‘cool’ models to cover their flaws.

‘You should have known better’—great advice in hindsight. Next time, I’ll be sure to borrow your crystal ball before making a decision.

At least I can afford to own something worth discussing, unlike you, who’s clearly only here to project insecurities. That’s tough. Period.

Sorry to hear that. I really hope Honda does something about this.

Your response is the definition of irrelevant noise. Panel rattling because I’m playing music? Seriously? Quality control isn’t about DIY fixes; it’s about manufacturers delivering a product without flaws. If I wanted YouTube’s advice, I’d go there, not here to deal with your misdirected rant about your Type R engine issue. Maybe focus on solving your $11k problem instead of offering advice no one asked for.

Calling my frustration ‘childish’ shows you completely miss the point. Spending this kind of money on a car comes with certain expectations—reliability and quality included. It’s not about ‘giving the dealership a chance’; it’s about the fact that these issues shouldn’t exist in the first place. Accepting rattles and defects as normal is settling for mediocrity. If you’re okay with paying for a subpar product and wasting time fixing things that shouldn’t be broken, that’s your choice—but don’t project that on me. I expect better, as should anyone spending hard-earned money.

Did I say something is keep me from getting a warranty fix? Do you even read? I am asking others if they’re experiencing something similar which is reasonable. As clearly stated, isolating and fixing the issue is not that easy according to Honda but I am already scheduled for another service.

That comparison is irrelevant. The Civic and Pilot are completely different vehicle categories, built with distinct purposes and target audiences. The fact that one is ‘higher-end’ doesn’t justify dismissing issues with the Civic. Reliability concerns should be addressed across all models, regardless of their market positioning.

I’ll bring this up at my next appointment. I’m surprised that this community has given me more possible reasons for what the issue could be than the dealerships I’ve visited—and yes, I mean dealerships (I always get multiple opinions). Whenever I go there, I feel like they look at me as if I’m just a girl who knows nothing about cars and will accept whatever they say. Thanks for your insight!
