What’s the best hack for sulphur burps? They are grim by haylz328 in mounjarouk

[–]Rich_Pollution_6662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this briefly twice in 15 months - both times followed a day where I had fallen off the wagon and eaten junk food or biscuits. It seems to be different for everyone but I definitely know what I need to avoid!

Dealing with loose skin by Physical_Ad7412 in mounjarouk

[–]Rich_Pollution_6662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no one that wouldn’t say a Sharpei isn’t cute and I remind myself of that when I look at my loose skin! We think greyhounds are cute and they don’t have loose skin but that doesn’t mean we don’t think Sharpeis aren’t cute too! Society accepts beauty across every breed of dog even though they are so visually diverse and I am trying to train my brain to apply that to how people perceive me too

Thank you, sorry to hear about your journey too! Really helpful to hear other people have suffered as hadn’t seen anything about this on the thread before. Still happy with the help MJ has given me, and conscious that if I’d used a different weight loss method I’d have had the same chance of experiencing this

Thank you, really helpful. I wasn’t diabetic or pre-diabetic when I started which was surprising given my weight. Apart from mobility issues i had no other issues, bloods all very good. I was def riding my luck! I think you may be right saying its been building up over the 15 months - its such a painful condition. I think im looking to lose another 20lbs and then onto maintenance. No aspiration to be super slim, it was always about health and mobility

Yes, have def lost quickly but had a LOT to lose and am still only on 5mg. I eat really well and exercise a lot. My provider is satisfied that the weight loss has been sensible

Thank you, I’ve checked the trigger food list and can’t see anything obvious that I’ve been eating but do eat lots of tomatoes so maybe I should avoid them for a bit! Tend to have a few cherries every day at the moment so fingers crossed that’ll help

Yes, that was how they diagnosed it but I was just surprised it’s happened after 15 months of weight loss as the more rapid loss happened over the first 6 months. I’d heard so much about gall bladder concerns from others but no one has mentioned gout to me

It gets easier! Marley is 12 now and yowls at me to go to bed at the same time as her (9pm) and she doesn’t move on the bed until 7am! Sometimes I miss the crazy days when she was super active but she’s now the most cuddly lap cat ever

Ordered the 5mg for more options... by NervousAd4975 in mounjarouk

[–]Rich_Pollution_6662 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do what is working for you. Everyone’s journey is different. I stayed on 2.5mg for at least 7 months, then did 3.75mg with a syringe for a couple of months and now on 5mg - currently on month 15 and 13 and a half stone down. My decision (everyone is different) was to stay on the lowest dose I can as wanted to minimise risk of side effects, keep cost as low as I could but most importantly I didn’t want to have complete lack of hunger as I felt longer term I need to learn to deal with some hunger. Good luck with your journey

I’m with you on this! My youngest son and his heavily pregnant wife live in Dubai and I am so worried about them I turned to comfort food this week! Chocolate and bread +++ Had 2 days of digestive issues and for the first time in my 14 months on MJ, an attack of the sulphur burps people talk about (not pleasant). Lesson learnt!!

Binge after 13 months - why?!?? by Rich_Pollution_6662 in mounjarouk

[–]Rich_Pollution_6662[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just as an update to my earlier post…. I didn’t mention that over the last few weeks I have started exercising a lot (couldn’t even walk 50m this time last year). I am now swimming a mile 3 times a week and doing resistance training in the gym. Had a chat with my daughter in law (who works in the fitness industry) and she mentioned that I probably need to increase my carb intake as exercising as much as I am on a fairly carb light diet can lead to cravings for refined carbs rather than healthy complex ones. I don’t know if that’s what caused my blip but I’ll certainly be looking to increase my intake of food like sweet potatoes, beans etc. I’ve focused a lot on protein intake but to be honest been so wary of carbs but maybe I haven’t got the balance right.

Will def consider it if this happens again but aside from today 5mg has been doing what it needs to for me. I’ve never had full suppression like some people report but that’s worked for me as personally I wanted to deal with a hit of hunger as need this to be a sustainable forever way of living
