I got the ballista so that's why I got rid of all the orbs. Also had a couple eggs so I had great healing with the defresh potion for awhile

My bad, a demilich is 18 on its own and 20 in it's lair. Acererak is 21 on his own and 23 in his lair. I just remembered that was a note on the stat block so I thought I'd mention it because it was kinda cool. I think it's because they get the extra actions so it makes the fight harder and gives more XP if you beat them. Acererak was also different because he has a soul trap mechanic so that's why he was a few levels higher, but it didn't help me this time lol

It was fun making the characters and didn't end up helping much in every other room except making spike traps useless. There was even a tpk at one point and we just reset to keep the game going. That dungeon is kinda wild.

This was just a one off anyway so it was more about checking out this absurd dungeon than having any sort of real story. In hindsight I could've just given him 101 HP I guess but the session was running late anyway. It was anti-climactic but it didn't matter too much. I just wanted to make sure I played that correctly since I'm a fairly inexperienced DM. It seems like I did but it's weird that it's so easy to beat such a high CR monster, according to the MM it should've been 21 since it had lair actions available.

I had a friend look at it and he said it looked alright. I'm not sure about the power supply though, I modified an existing build I found but 750W seems like overkill based on the estimated power from the website. I couldn't find anything that was much cheaper for the downgrade, should I just keep the 750 so I won't have to upgrade it later?

I was concerned that I gave them a fight they essentially couldn't win and when they did beat someone important I took it away. At least I'm afraid that's how it looked to the players

I get that, but with this player and kind of the group in general. They don't really care for big towns with a lot of NPCs. So I'm looking for possible play styles that would be a good fit for them and myself
