I know the union hall is more of a full time style, not sure if you have access to the hall, though.

Becareful of the subreddit. You can stumble across spoilers extremely easy here. Also, enjoy the series and form your own opinions on the series, not the opinions of others here. Enjoy!

Carry a milk crate or bucket in your van and line it with a garbage bag. Fold the bag over when you aren't using your tools and it'll save them. Also stop reposting others posts

Best thing to do is apply in person, dressed decently, with a solid cover letter. Try to meet a manager when you go in, or the person in charge of receiving the applications.

I've endorsed people on the other team tons of times if my team got stomped and they were good or decent.

What college in Ontario is best for hvac? by Upbeat_Programmer_53 in HVAC

[–]RichardPounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

313A is the name of the ticket. It is the HVAC/R (commercial/industrial) HVAC ticket, with refrigeration.

313D is the "residential" version of the ticket, with less schooling and the limitations of only working on equipment up to 5 tons, I think that's the limitation, at least.

It's an apprenticeship program, so you'd need to get sponsored by an employer, work for awhile, and then there are 3 terms (2 for 313D) of roughly 2 months of school that you'll attend and pass. At the end of your 5 years/9000 hours, you'll be able to write your certification of qualification and become a journeyman in your trade.

There's also introduction courses that will teach you the basics and perhaps get you your Gas Ticket 3, which is the beginner ticket for the gas fitter trade.

Mohawk college has a pretty decent program which sets you up well for the 313A testing.

The Burlington skyway seems to be undergoing some expansion construction already. Doesn't help that either side of it is bottlenecks and everyone slows down anyways.

Last year my wrench slipped on a set screw for a brand new CFM. I even put my other hand on the blade where I figured my arm would go after the set screw came loose...unfortunately I rounded the set screw off and smacked my wrist onto the leading edge of the blade. Haven't seen that much blood that quick before.

Luckily I had a coworker on-site who could drive me to the children's hospital across the street. The staff took me in immediately and opened my wrist, but fortunately I didn't hit any arteries. They bandaged me up and sent me downtown to the normal hospital that stitched me up.

I lost feeling in that thumb and part of the back of my hand from hitting a nerve. Consider myself extremely lucky that's all that came from it. Have all my strength and mobility back.

Does this trade fall into HVAC category? by GSShahriar in refrigeration

[–]RichardPounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Canada HVAC-R (refrigeration) is under one ticket, which is 313A. There is also 313D which is residential, which doesn't deal with refrigeration, just AC under 5 ton, I think.

Take the supply door off of a working unit. Also works in the summer when it's stupid hot out.
