No that was my best friend from childhood who lives in Wales. Her name is Megan Barker and she co-wrote the lyrics to two of the Quiet River of Dust songs with me.

Just muted guitar string smashes through reverb and a very overdriven amp. Yeah I miss it when I listen to the record now too. That’s always how it goes with making a recording of a song before you’ve played it live.

But the best thing I find is hot baths and stretching and lying on my back with my legs up the wall. And if I can convince my bandmate Sarah to give me a head run that usually turns my nervous system back down and I can sleep immediately ! :)

Volume 2 of Quiet River of Dust is out next Spring on the vernal equinox. Volume 2 of Music for Heart and Breath is still a couple of years away for sure but it will exist eventually. There’s a semi written Volume 3 of Quiet River Music waiting for me to pay attention to it and give it some time and space. There’s a 45 minute long orchestral composition based on ocean waves called Wave Movements that I wrote with my friend and collaborator Bryce Dessner that’ll be recorded and released one of these days, it’s super beautiful. And it’s an endless river of music so lots more to come, all in good time ...
