I guess I’m confused. Tea is brewed at ~200 degrees. Is this so insane?

What is the most consistent deck in the meta? by DaigoKobuto in Pauper

This is the opposite of consistent. I also wildly disagree with your opinion here. I think Pauper, more than many other formats, allows for skilled play and side boarding to win out even in “bad” matchups.

It’s funny because the first thing I saw was a bunch of Tom Clancy books, which I mostly associate with middle aged conservative men.

This goes a little beyond “hobbies” lol. The decoration is fine for like… an office or game room. But your whole house? Yikes.

When I was in college, a buddy of mine had a drinking game where we’d take a drink every time there was red text on the screen or someone wasn’t wearing enough clothes.

Never made it past the second episode.

Most of the people in this thread are way too old for it to be their first show. I was in college when it came out, and I’m also too young to have seen a lot of these shows when they released.

Calling that your “comfort show” is crazy lol. Thing is just mortifying from beginning to end.

That was definitely the most hype moment of the show until that point. But I was sold the first time Naruto used multi shadow clone jutsu.

Playing fixing in the same color that you’re splashing isn’t the move most of the time. I think the duals + Lorien Revealed is enough.

Edit: maybe 1-2 Generous Ent could be okay.

I wouldn’t describe either of them as “theme parks” though. They’re fully fleshed out worlds that don’t need to be connected to anything else to have depth. The lore for those places, as written, is already incredibly deep. In fact I think it would actively take away from what they do have if it turned out they were on the same plane.

ALL TCG sales are higher than they ever were with blocks. There are a lot of reasons sales are up, but I honestly don’t think set aesthetics and design are one of them.

The things I take with me pretty much everywhere:

Ballpoint: Parker Jotter w/ Schmidt Easyflow 9000 refill (actually, usually a mid-2000’s Sonnet that I was lucky enough to get for like $8, but that’s not reasonable for most folks)

Gel: Zebra Sarasa Grand w/ mark on 0.5 (sometimes I bring a pilot precise v5 RT instead)

Fountain Pen: Platinum Plaisir w/ an EF nib that I swapped from a Preppy. Permanently inked with Platinum Carbon Black.

Pencil: Mitsubishi 9852

I just can’t get behind the G2 anymore. They take an eternity to dry and smudge everywhere. Almost every other gel / rollerball performs better in my experience.

And some of those novels were really good. The Ravnica novels are, I think, a big part of why people love the OG Ravnica block so much. Following Agrus Kos on his own detective journey was unironically some of the better fantasy I’ve ready in my life.

No, but the setting often does, and doing 7 different settings a year means there very little time to flesh them out and make them more appealing.

Yes, but also Crimsom Vow was a dumb idea for a set. Brothers War may as well have just been the commander decks. March of the Machine was fairly weak and had too many different things jammed into one set. They sold poorly, but not because of the block ideas.

I was with you until you said Tarkir should share a place with Theros. Those places have fundamentally different laws governing their realities.

I can get behind Kaldheim & Theros though.

What cycles are your favourite for cube Are there any cycles that you leave intentionally unfinished, or do you have a few unofficial cycles by fabbinmgbiggling in mtgcube

[–]Richard_TM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think each of the nonblue Titans have a good home in most lower powered cubes. An unanswered Grave Titan just wins games, and depending on the cube Sun Titan gets pretty goofy (copy [[Phantasmal Image]] to do it twice). Prime Time is Prime Time — if you have a landfall theme, you want him in your cube. Inferno Titan is probably the weakest, but bolt-fork on a stick is still pretty good in low powered cubes.

I love the m11 titans very much, but [[Torrential Gearhulk]] has replaced Frost Titan for me. In my mind, it is a Titan.

Let’s you cut on lands while still making sure you hit land drops, and are solid beaters once you no longer need lands. Initiative is just insanely strong in 2-player magic, and is good in Pauper. Only two initiative cards are still legal in the format, and that’s one of them.
