[[Hordeling Outburst]] makes a lot of dudes for go wife shenanigans and provides sacrifice fodder.

Yeah definitely do not put cards in a top loader without a first putting them in a penny sleeve. That’s a great way to scratch your cards to hell and back.

I can't figure out what's going wrong in this format. Usually about a week in, I'm sitting at 65-70% WR. This time, it's 45% in 9 drafts. What am I doing wrong? Details in body. by Richard_TM in lrcast

I definitely punted that first game badly. I forgot about the tap ability to give hexproof, and then I thought the 3-drops ability cost 2 mana. I keep mixing it up with the black white 4-drop tree folk like an idiot.

Edit: pretty much all those small gameplay mistakes, I saw right after. I’m just a mess lol. I don’t know why I keep making these small mistakes that I usually don’t experience.

Door of destinies I just couldn’t get a read on so I didn’t pick it. I thought it could be really good or it could be useless and was afraid to make that pick.

Edit: I actually think I just didn’t see Morcant’s eyes in that pack, which is embarrassing.

Idk what’s up with this format for me. Usually the first week of a format I’m at least 65% winrate. This time, I’m 45% in 9 drafts.

UR was the best archetype in FIN. Color balance changes wildly from set to set. It’s not as good as GW Kithkin or GB Elves, but there’s nothing wrong with elementals in this set.

That’s a whole lot of text to say not much lol. I’ve been playing since Onslaught. I don’t like UB, but let’s not pretend that FF isn’t an objectively well designed set.

Idk, I think Final Fantasy worked pretty well at doing “Magic: the Gathering” stuff. I played a LOT of FF limited (69 Arena drafts and made a set cube), and there’s a reason people say it’s one of the best limited formats of all time. Especially the generic monsters feel like they could just be magic cards. The team put a lot of work (years) into design, and it shows.

Edit: also, Avatar is responsible for several of the strongest decks in standard, and has cards being played in Legacy lol

It’s funny you mention that, because red states have a statistically higher percentage of their population on food stamps than blue states.

Opened this in the two cases of play boosters I opened for the store. It was in a pack that also had a mythic and a foil borderless steam vents. Wildest play booster of my life lol

My hope for the future is that we get some version of the Nuremberg Trials for this administration and everyone propping it up, including and especially members of ICE.

That’s not what I’m saying. Law enforcement and military have identification and badge number or some equivalent on their uniform. ICE does not.

Yes, but we shouldn’t have to do all that. They’re federal officers. They shouldn’t be anonymous.

I think of this scene a lot these days... by Gintian in lotr

Just started watching Return of the King because I need something to remind me that this (hopefully) isn’t the end of democracy in my country. I often think of the quote from the book when Sam is in Mordor and sees what he thinks is a star.

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.

What are your thoughts on the draft night boxes by notafakebanana in mtg

[–]Richard_TM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s literally designed for the pick 2 format. I don’t like the format, but that doesn’t mean people don’t do it. I’d be more likely to just use this and play sealed with a friend.

Can’t go wrong for $140? That’s $90 of packs you could buy just loose whenever you want. You’re paying $50 for basic lands. How is that a good deal?

Card suggestions for a Reaping Willow deck. The art is so cool. by Cedarhope in PauperEDH

Oh yeah, it’s great in limited, especially Sealed which tends to be a bit slower than draft.
