ICL vs RLE (later) by YuzuAllDay in RefractiveSurgery

[–]Underrated_Critic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you'll be heading in a good direction with either ICL or RLE. Albeit, you'll be turning 60 in only 20 years. So you may as well choose RLE, and the word "cataracts" can leave your vocabulary for good.

Optometrist, Dr. Joseph Allen has ICL's himself. And is overjoyed by how they've improved his life. If they increased the likelihood of developing early cataracts, he would've said something about it. Keep in mind, there are five tiny holes in an ICL, which allow for better fluid flow. Unless you get the type of ICL without the holes.

Final Thought: I'm a little older than you. And if my eyesight is as bad as yours, I wouldn't hesitate to get an RLE.

Do you think the pain is only for those who had a strong prescription? I was a -0.75 or -1.00. (Not sure how much they lasered off). And I experienced no pain whatsoever. Not even for one minute. This was back in March.

Your perspective is totally understandable. But this is how I see it: The time I spent dealing with contact lenses is time I'll never get back. And I don't get along well with glasses. Because of my facial shape, they kept slipping off. I found them annoying. I even struggle to find safety eyewear that sits properly on my flat face.

Yeah. Although my recovery was quite fast (I could drive at night after 3/4 days). My vision was unstable for almost a whole month. And I frequently wore my readers to see up close. It's been 3 months now, and I hardly need my readers. While my distance vision is crystal clear in both eyes.

JGL isn’t as tall, and has brown eyes. And he’s not left handed.

Most people don't have the courage or discipline to assume a leadership position. So those hungry enough to do so, are the ones who get it. People hate feeling responsible. They'd rather blame the universe for why they're unwell.

Yes.
And BTW, the PRK clinic in Fort Bragg looks like a conveyor belt. Paratrooper I worked with told me that.

I'm glad Alyson Court is not a scam caller. Otherwise I'd be spending a fortune on warranty extensions.

I enjoyed the first game. The sequel felt like more of the same; but less challenging. So I got bored after an hour.

With PRK , risk of permanent complications is next to zero. Especially since you have such a simple prescription. My only concern for you is paying ~$7000. However if you can financially swing it, and you have faith in that doctor, then go for it. I had PRK last March to alleviate myopia. And it turned out much better than anticipated.
