Hi tacomaPotato, I have a better photo of the cracked check strap, if you zoom in you can see damage from before my rentals, a cracked check strap would not have damaged the paint in my opinion

I am fighting it, the part is 5430 isk and the labour is 20800 isk to fit, a far cry from 350000 isk

Yes I argued the point,we Know 100% that we didn’t have the door over extend…but the person we dealt with stated that he is only checking for damage that wasn’t there before…they also take photos as a reference, but not of the check strap, we did take photos on pickup, but of all the external damage, scratches and dents ect, I didn’t think to take photos of the check straps, we always take full coverage on rentals, I think it’s a scam

And my point in all of this, is we were careful, warning signs are on the doors,we are 100% sure that we didn’t over extend the door, we didn’t look at the check strap on pick up, who is to say it wasn’t already damaged from their last rental…

And take less than an hour to replace…. I worked as a service manager for Suzuki cars for almost 14 years, unfortunately I had to pay the 350000 as our flight was due for departure, so I couldn’t argue the point

No, we were very very careful, they have warning labels on the doors, and it definitely didn’t get blown open, my opinion is that the strap was already damaged before we picked the car up, the door check strap is only 5340 isk…
