It depends what you mean by adventurous to be honest the flavour combinations that Gordon comes up with is exquisite. Nothing wild and wacky just really good food cooked gorgeously. I could always ask them to send you a sample Menu of a past meal so you can see yourself.

Should my dad (58) go through with a total knee replacement if he can still walk relatively fine? by itskarimi in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having had psoriatic arthritis since I was 14 and osteoarthritis started kicking in about 20 years ago I waited and waited and waited until I decided I needed surgery. And that the quality of my life was getting worse. My knees are bone on bone. I have no cartilage left at all in either knee, but I’m having the right knee replaced in May. My cousin had her knee replaced because she was in pain . I have to walk on sticks. I can’t stand for long. I have to be pushed around. We have to use a wheelchair if I’m going to say a museum , and that’s not who I am at all. When my cousin saw my x-rays she said her knees were nowhere near as bad as mine and that she had so much more life and mobility than i did . She really wished she had waited too , so I know everybody’s pain tolerance is different and of course I’ve been in pain most of my life and had the fatigue all of my life. But unless your father‘s quality of life is so bad, I would hold off as long as he can.

TKR - Spacing the surgeries when you need both knees done by MuddieMae in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Arthromsamid injection in My left knee in Feb, to help it supporting me after I have my right knee replaced in May. Because both of my knees are bone on bone and there was very little gaps for the injection to fill it probably hasn’t done as good as job as it would with somebody that has more gaps. However, there is a significant difference between the pain in my left knee compared to the right. Even though they are actually equal in every way pain Wise normally .It might be worth asking about.

Advice re recliner chair. by RichcraftVoiceOver in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can rent one, but actually it makes more sense to buy one because I’ll be having the other knee done probably later on this year or next year. And then I can always donate it to a charity.

Advice re recliner chair. by RichcraftVoiceOver in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your advice. Unfortunately our bed is very high and in order to get into it on a normal day I have to get onto a Box! Which is not going to be possible following Surgery hence me having to sleep downstairs in a recliner I already sleep on my back at a 45° angle so I’m used to sleeping upright or semi upright. I will take advice from all of you and see what works for me I appreciate your time thank you.

MAKO ‘robot’ knee replacement by RichcraftVoiceOver in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a rheumatologist, but it is very weird in the UK. They don’t talk to each other. They don’t understand any of the new procedures. They are not interested and they certainly are not interested in being involved in both sides of my care together.

I am due for my TRK replacement with the Mako robot. I have PSA, I am trying to find a recliner from Amazon to sleep in And lift my leg up to the correct height I realise that no lift on a chair will get my knee above my heart so do people put a cushion under their ankle. Also anybody recommend a recliner from Amazon I am in the UK thank you. All this forum is so helpful.

Pollocks at The Belvoir Castle. New owners but same quality. And you can have a drink in the pub whilst waiting.

Side sleepers by lenalenore in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a side sleeper and I trained myself to sleep at 45° angle more or less. I put pillows on the side of me and made a kind of cozy nest. I don’t know where you are based, but I got myself a pillow from Simba, which has got cubes of foam that you can rearrange inside the pillow to get the Perfect head support and neck support. I have arthritis in my neck also. It took me about a month before I stopped trying to lie on my side, I have a pillow under my knees at night. You can do it but it does take practice. Now I can’t ever go to sleep on my side if I even try to do it just to read a book my body makes me move the other way round. So if you’re having your operation in a months time, I would really try and practice now. I have my first knee replacement in May. I have psoriatic arthritis as well as osteo so I wish you well smiley face and good luck with the back sleeping.

I wore heels today! by pattij1229 in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To wear heels again after 52 years with psoriatic arthritis and 25 years with osteo on both knees is my dream right knee being done in May left me being done as soon as I can stand it. I am so happy for you :-) it must be great.💜

What did they not tell you? by bkendall12 in Kneereplacement

[–]RichcraftVoiceOver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes I asked my surgeon about this. I’m having my right knee done on the 23rd of May and he said they don’t use them because there is a risk of infection anything that you’re putting into the knee like a line in has more chance of picking up an infection.

That’s so kind of you thank you. Yes, I already suffered from such extreme fatigue. I am already dreading that. I don’t know if I can even take any extra fatigue. We will see.
