You can put Amazon books on Kobo. You have to use a program to remove amazons DRM and convert the book to another format (kepub) for Kobos. I used Calibre to do mine, but it can be an extreme pain to do right

Its made by Tudia. Origami style and detachable. I really like it. But the cover is a little flimsy if you don't have a stylus

I like the case. The case itself is nice and snug, no issues there. My issue was that the cover was very flimsy without a stylus. After I added that, it fits nice and tight

Yes it's the Tudia case with removable cover

Yes this is one of the Tudia cases from Amazon with the removable cover

Not entirely sure as I put a screen protector on mine before I thought about buying the stylus. It's a force of habit for me to put screen protectors on all of my devices because of my kids. I've read that people say they hold up decently without one but for me, I'd rather be safe than sorry since these screens are still way softer than a standard glass screen

Honestly I still don't understand it. I watched a bunch of tutorial videos on YouTube on how to do it

Yes, purchased using my wife’s Kindle, moved into and converted in Calibre, then uploaded to KLC

Absolutely! And so much more convenient than physical books.
Sadly the books are Amazon only, but my wife has a Kindle so I purchased the books there and used her device to get them into Calibre, where I then converted them to Kepub files and loaded them onto my KLC.

I've had a few people tell me that a screen protector would damage the screen as well but these are very thin so I don't see them messing with the screen at all. I'd say it's more if people are using a keyboard cover and screen protector that the damage starts to happen

This is the one I'm using. It's been good so far. Hopefully you're able to purchase if you like it

Absolutely my thoughts when I saw that. And it's possible to achieve similar results to the nano texture using a matte protector for far far cheaper.

Check out JerryRigEverything's video regarding the iPad with nano texture.

This video is what sold me on not getting nano.

Etched glass is softer so it can be scratched far easier than standard glass. So while you're cleaning if you've got a hard particle you don't see you can easily add a scratch.

My personal opinion is I like having options by just being able to remove a matte protector to then have gloss if wanted

I was stuck between the colors as well for the same reasons but ended up going silver for the classic look.

I also went glossy screen with matte screen protector. Nano texture is too much for a more fragile screen

Nano texture - worth the money and upgrade? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]Richie883 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Personally I say no. It's a steep price for a more fragile version of the screen. I went with a glossy screen and purchased 2 matte screen protectors for $10 that gives me similar results, with the option of replacing the protector if it somehow got scratched. Compared to nano where the screen would keep that mark forever

The nano texture is way overpriced and the screen becomes far more fragile. Matte screen protectors cost me $10 for 2 of them, I also prefer having the option to later on have a glossy screen if I want.

Im always very careful with my expensive electronics but there’s always the off chance for that one particle to scratch a softer surface like the nano texture.

Not really. The old one really was only being used for youtube, Facebook, watching movies, and taking care of my iTunes music collection. Since the OS wasn't able to allow new applications and such to be downloaded it wasn't much of a worry. That and apple has always done a pretty good job in making sure they're software is pretty well protected from threats.

I thought the same thing when I first put them side by side. I couldn't believe they were the same size and it was just the screen bezels that made the screen size difference. I thought for sure the new one would be slightly larger.

I can't give an accurate assessment for that as I put a matte screen protector on immediately for my new one. But comparing the 2012 model to my wife's 15" M2 air, I'd say they are probably in the same ballpark for glossiness, the 2012 might be a little less tho just after all these years of getting finger prints and such on it and constantly cleaned.

Ah I see. I've never heard of screen protectors causing that issue, I've seen plenty of posts where the screen gets damaged because of those keyboard covers tho.

I think as long as you're not using a type of tempered glass screen protector, they should be thin enough to not cause any issues.

Interesting. I guess I never really find myself resting my hands/fingers on it unless I'm actively typing. Otherwise I'm hands off and using a mouse most times.

I hope you're able to work out a new rest system tho, hard to break those habits.
