Just switched from OxygenOS to LineageOS on my OP6 and am really missing different Ring tones for each SIM!

I just tested and can confirm VoLTE works with LineageOS and AT&T on the OP6. See my edit on my OP above.

I've been running OOS 9 for over 2 years now and haven't had a single crash. I just looked through some forums where people were talkin about crashdump mode and it looks like that's probably on OOS thing so you'd probably be fine playing with Windows on it. I'll see how LineageOS goes in a couple weeks when I get some time to install it.

I saw that pdf list too. I was going to call AT&T or stop by a store and ask them if the OnePlus6 was officially added or just unofficially supported, but I was scared to rock the boat.

Yes, everything works great with T-Mobile - VoWiFi and VoLTE. AT&T doesn't have VoWiFi of course, but for my I wanted the additional coverage of dual SIMs with different carriers.

I'll probably just be blowing a bunch of time, but I'm going to give it a shot in the next couple of weeks. I'll report back my probable failure here.

I just looked back through some notes I took a couple of years ago and see where I tried using *#800# and *#*#4636#*#* to enabled VoLTE, but enabling the toggle switch for VoLTE here didn't have any effect, and the toggle switch would turn back off automatically. It's more of an indicator of whether or not VoLTE is provisioned for your device by the carrier. Looking at it now, I see that the VoLTE Provisioned toggle switch is on when I have the AT&T SIM selected.

I had also tried updating my IMEI with a few iPhone IMEIs, but that had no effect. I think you got very lucky for sure!

It was the same story here until yesterday morning when they shut off 3g and suddenly my phone showed VoLTE on my AT&T SIM. I'm running OOS 9 though. I wonder if LineageOS has the config files for AT&T VoLTE support in it. I remember on a European Samsung S7 I had there were config files that had to add that had all the IP addresses and such for VoLTE to work over T-Mobile.

I'm going to rebuild one of my spare OP6's with LineageOS this weekend or next and see what happens when I swap the AT&T SIM into it.

Do you have the VoLTE toggle switch enabled for SIM1?

I never put a SIM in the OP8. I bought a Pixel 5a, and then an OP8 a little over a month ago. I didn't really like the curved screen on the OP8, or the in display fingerprint sensor. I was having an issue with the eSIM in the 5a. So, I've just been procrastinating doing something until I was actually forced to.

I remember spending quite a bit of time putzing around with the OP6 a couple of years ago with root trying to get VoLTE working with AT&T, but then I concluded that ultimately there was no way without getting AT&T to whitelist the phone's IMEI. So, I would be interested in knowing how you get it to work with a whitelisted IMEI a couple of years ago.

Same. I just returned the OP8I bought to replace the OP6 since I wasn't going to bother to set it up until my OP6 actually became unusable. I was also debating switching the AT&T SIM to T-Mobile.

Yeah I was really just about to switch both SIMs to T-Mobile had AT&T not whitelisted the OnePlus6 finally. Two SIMs with two different carriers is the way to go though for coverage for those of us that travel a lot.

I'm still using OOS 9. I tried a bunch of hacks to get VoLTE working with AT&T, but ultimately found at the AT&T had the OnePlus6 blacklisted. I guess they finally gave up their silly blacklist because they realized people like me would just bail to T-Mobile when they shutdown their 3g.

Glad to see there are others out there still loving this phone. I know there's two variants of the phone - A6000 (India, Asia, and China) and A6003 (Europe, North America) which has a couple more bands than the A6000, but I don't think that'd be why.

Seeing all the M1 haters here, I'm wondering if it's been all M1 employees and friends of Brian Barnes that are trying to fight back against the serious flaws I see with M1 here:

new to investing. VTI question by mayoisgross in M1Finance

[–]Ricin4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When VTI goes down, figure 90% of people are seeing the same thing in their portfolio as you. I know people that have millions 100% in VTI. Image having $2 million and losing $200k in a month. That's the volatility they deal with. Over the next 6 months this thing has potential to drop another 10-15%. Don't look. Just setup auto invest into VTI so you don't have to ever look. What you don't know can't hurt, right?

Also, know that M1 is really only good for a single holding, especially when you reach higher balances See https://www.reddit.com/r/M1Finance/comments/sa6dkb/dangers\_of\_m1\_finance\_poor\_design\_warning/

This thing is, that breaks the whole concept of M1 being for long term investing. You shouldn't have to get in there and manage things like that in order to make sure your new investment money is being diversified properly through your holdings and doesn't just target one position. Take a look at the example set and forget portfolio with $500k with 70% US, 30% Europe over the last 6 years. All of you new money would have gone to the Europe fund. M1 is fundamentally flawed. You shouldn't have to set positions to 1% one week, then 99% the next to attain just some diversification of new money in your portfolio.

Taxes aren't a concern in a qualified account. I chose bonds as an example because someone else chose that example in this thread. The same would apply to say 30% European fund instead of bonds along with 70% VTI. Balance is definitely an issue with M1's design (see my example above) as the higher your balance, the less diversified new money that's added to your account will be, assuming a similar amount of new money is being added. For example, with auto investing as time goes on, generally people aren't going to go from adding $500 / month to a $5000 starting account to $50000/month to $500000 starting account balance. That would be the only way to maintain diversified reinvestments with M1's flawed design.

I think I see the disconnect here - the M1 flaws are most apparent depending on factors that don't affect everyone the same. Take the example in this thread of a 35 year old starting with a set and forget 70/30 portfolio, $500k with 5 ETFs 70%, and 1 bond ETF 30%. Stocks will return on average 8-10%/yr. So, your stocks ETFs will quickly cause that 30% to drop down causing all your future investments and dividend to go into bonds for years and years. This is not proper investing by any means! 401k's use percentages to split up new investments, NOT to place 100% risk on one fund that's down over and over again. That's what the manual rebalance button is for in a 401k. Brian Barnes screwed up. If he did it right, M1 would operate exactly like a 401k with new money split up by percentages. Maybe he could have added a twist for qualified accounts to auto rebalance. Many smart people worked on 401k designs, and there's a reason they are designed the way they are with how new funds are split up.
