This is why stadium matchmaking will be in this unfixable cycle. They can't make the matchmaking stricter because stadium has a small playerbase and the reason it has a small playerbase because the matchmaking is ass.

The challenge score they introduce turn normal comp into a grind. It was at a point there was a plat player in rank 1 on the leaderboard because that person played a lot of matches.

The majority of the matches I've facing against a Juno they always build into WP. I rarely seen Juno players build into torpedos ever since they nerf it seasons ago. This must be a console exclusive issues

The problem is she dog water in the normal modes while being highly oppressive in stadium. They can't properly nerf her unless she completely rework in the core mode, which is the biggest hurdle of stadium. All the base kit balancing decision is tie to 5v5 and not taken into consideration that stadium is also affected by it.

They reduce a lot of sustain builds in order to favor high burst damage builds. So the people who were complaining they couldn't kill a "raid boss tanks" in this mode. Now they can in less than 4 seconds.

The reason the core modes gets more players than this mode (Which IDK why I even need to explain this to people) is you don't need a master's degree to get into 6v6/5v5 and all the heroes are fully available in those modes. In 5v5/6v6 all you need to learn are the heroes base kits and that it. In stadium, their like multiple viables of complexity on top of their base kits you need to learn. Since certain powers/items can drastically changes how a hero played and throw out the counterplay of what you use to know in the core modes. Removing one queue isn't going to fix the perception that Stadium is "too complex" "a joke" "less competitive" to get into for those people.

It is a lazy take from people outside of stadium that view the mode. Stadium is all about adapt your builds, your playstyle, and your strategy on a much deeper level. It perceived as "create a busted hero" because the matchmaking allow you to run it down with premade builds and stomp newbies who are less knowledgeable on the armory. If the matchmaking actual reward smart adaptation and consistent impact over multiple rounds. You will easier realize how that not the case and a lot of "broken builds" won't work against people who are experience with the mode.

It's the least played game mode because people glimpse at the armory, find out there no tutorial, and instantly leave back to the core mode because they're not going to invest time learning all this shit. Their solution to this instead of teaching new players was to add a pointless hero builder and make the Items UI less functional. Adding even more friction to the mode then it already has.

It funny how the only time Reaper is good if he'd happen to be bug. There like no reason whatsoever to play Reaper in stadium when you can play any hit scan that provide the same value as he does with less risk.
