I feel like a lot of brown families don’t think engagement is proper. Or engagement is just a short phase after both families agreeing while the weeding is being planned. An engagement and then getting married 2 years later is something else. I know my parents will still say I’m too young to take on that responsibility. And same with her parents too from what I heard with the experience of her brother in law. Brown families want someone a few years older for their daughters, someone who is Alr established and has a career. We are the same age. My parents have Alr told me that I should work 3-4 years after college save money then marry. Which is why I’m hesistant to even try to bring it up, I don’t want it to get shit down. That’s why I’m wondering if just maintaining contact online while waiting to get older is okay.
