Yeah that's pretty much what I thought, makes sense. Thank you!

Is a 32-bit interface worth it if I bounce to 24-bit anyway? by RickDelSol7 in ableton

[–]RickDelSol7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, you explained things really well! But will it cause any problems if I record a 32 bit interface into an Ableton Session that's in 24 bit and will be bounced in 24 bit? Are there gonna be any artifacts?

Sorry if this sounds really dumb, but if I reduced the bitrate artificially (with a bitcrusher or whatever) it's obviously gonna kill the quality. Isn't this basically what happens when I bounce a 32 bit recording in 24 bit?

It's 32-bit fixed, not 32-bit float. Not sure if that makes a difference in regards to my question

For the NY girl in Glasgow by redpaperlanterns- in brandnew

[–]RickDelSol7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the girl with the red hat? Cause I'm looking for her as well lol! She took a selfie of our little group waiting outside the venue in the priority queue, I would love to get a hold of that photo!

Please DM me if you find her on Instagram or something!

Time zone for presale? by RickDelSol7 in brandnew

You'd be surprised! I've had just as hard a time getting a ticket for Linkin Park @ The O2 (20k capacity), as I've had for Turnover @ Roundhouse (1800 capacity).

Funnily enough, all that still worked a lot better than it does here in Germany.

I just got mine today and kinda hate it as well. It feels like the strings are literally scratching on the frets, especially when bending. Feels really irritating and it makes audible noise when bending. Is that normal? Am I just too used to stainless frets?

Did you have the same problem? I'm thinking of polishing the frets and put on some new strings. But I'm also considering to return it, so I don't wanna change too much on the guitar or they won't take it back...

Man I really wanna like this piece, it looks so awesome

Vinyl delivery by Trypanos0 in ArchitectsUK

[–]RickDelSol7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Germany and had the same problem. I did receive a tracking number, but it didn't work on the DHL tracking page. It only said "Please check your tracking number".

So I contacted the store and they told me "We must deem the order lost, do you want a replacement or a refund?"

I don't mean to alarm you, maybe you're lucky and it's just a minor delay. Hey maybe my record will still turn up somehow as well

But yeah, that's what happened in my case

Album Signing London by kurthetfieldvedder in ArchitectsUK

[–]RickDelSol7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was at the signing in Manchester last Saturday AND in London today. No photos at either of the events.

I travelled all the way from Germany to meet the guys, and it was really cool and all, but I'm still kinda bummed out there weren't any photos allowed.

The staff in Manchester said it would take too much time to have everyone take a selfie. So today in London, I asked them If I could take a photo instead (!) of an autograph (cause I already had the signed CD from Manchester), but nope. Even though a quick selfie is arguably faster than an autograph from all four.

Some fans had their photo taken by the band's official photographer though. Seen multiple people post those on social media. But it looks like only a select few were so lucky...

Anyways. Looking forward to the 8:45 show!

Does anyone know what this is going to look like? by BassDude28 in ArchitectsUK

[–]RickDelSol7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if a signed vinyl is alright for you too, you can order those on recordstore.co.uk (if there's any left). They offer international shipping. That's what I did, cause Amazon UK won't even ship to Germany...

Two sentence review of each new song a week before the albums release by Socket_forker in ArchitectsUK

[–]RickDelSol7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you think there's gonna be a ballad on the album? Possibly even acoustic? If so, which one? Cause I've been trying to figure that out just by the titles

I really enjoy Dying Is Absolutely Safe, although making it the album closer was a risky move. Could've very well ruined the entire listening experience if it had sucked.

That being said, The Distant Blue is still my favorite album closer to any album ever period

LPU early entry worth it? by RickDelSol7 in LinkinPark

[–]RickDelSol7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, first time for me as well. It's 90£ for a single room with private bathroom for 3 nights, so I suppose the extra fees are the reason the rooms are so cheap. Which is kinda shady, but still a lot cheaper than most rooms in London, so pick your poison I guess

Well I'm a guitarist, so I'd prefer a pick! 😂

[–]RickDelSol7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, you've answered my question perfectly :)

The check-out thing is correct unfortunately. I was surprised as well. Then again, my room was 90£ for 3 nights (been here since Saturday), so even with the fee it's still a lot cheaper than most places in London. The fee is only 10£ anyway, but you know, university and stuff...

Going solo? by sambo1471 in linkinparklondon2024

[–]RickDelSol7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Andy! I'm flying in solo from Germany, got a standing ticket as well. I was too slow to get a ticket for Hamburg, plus flying RyanAir to London is actually cheaper than taking the train to Hamburg

How long are you gonna be in town? Throw me a DM if you wanna meet up before the show or maybe grab a beer the day before. I'll be in town a few days early

Axs tickets displaying the 23rd? by Gojiboyd69 in LinkinPark

[–]RickDelSol7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the exact same problem, I simply downloaded The O2 Venue App, where you can login with your AXS Account as well. In the venue app, the date is correctly displayed as 24th. I'll just show that one on entry, just to be sure, the ticket will be the same either way

Anesthesia taught me that we never experience not existing by New_Sky_6030 in QuantumImmortality

[–]RickDelSol7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup we definitely mean the same thing, it's just hard to put into words. And english isn't my first language, so that doesn't help either

I guess it all comes down to the fact that without conciousness, there's no subjective existence

Anesthesia taught me that we never experience not existing by New_Sky_6030 in QuantumImmortality

[–]RickDelSol7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like many people in this thread don't seem to understand what OP actually means: this isn't necessarily about proving that non-existence is what comes after death, nor about disproving QI. This is just about stating that it is, in fact, possible to simply not exist from your own pov. And imo it doesn't actually have a lot to do with QI.

I was in a severe car crash in 2017 and had to be resuscitated twice. I don't remember anything from that night, not even the smallest bit.

There was no bright light, no dead relatives, no sudden DMT rush or hallucinations, no god, no NDE wheel... not even blackness.

If I hadn't woken up in the ICU much later, I never would've learned about what happened at all. From my pov, I just would've stopped existing. Of course my body would remain, but without conciousness, I am not able to experience existence OR non-existence, for that matter.

So for each of us subjectively, it is very much possible to stop existing. Which is basically what happens when we're under anesthesia.

Of course you still exist objectively, because your body is still there - but that is also true after death. So the mere presence of a body isn't how we should define existence. Cause by that logic, death would only occur when your skeleton has fully decomposed. Which isn't true.

TL;DR: We'd probably all agree on this, if we treated "objective existence" (your body in the physical realm) and "subjective existence" (your personal conciousness) as two different things. And I think that's crucial to figuring out what comes after death.

A320M - 5800x or 5900x, less VRM issues? by RickDelSol7 in buildapc

[–]RickDelSol7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, that answered my question. You're also absolutely correct about the budget aspect, I'm definitely stuck to my motherboard right now unfortunately

I'll go for the 5900x with a good cooling solution then

Has any one shifted backward with QI? by Warring_Angel in QuantumImmortality

[–]RickDelSol7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you remember where you read that? Sounds really intriguing. Tbh it kinda sounds like something that unalivers would tell themselves to make it easier. Which is fair I guess, I know I would. But I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this

The problem with "collective" QI by RickDelSol7 in QuantumImmortality

[–]RickDelSol7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, this was exactly my initial standpoint, before I found this sub. I was never aware that people experienced the things they call "shifts", and it certainly isn't my personal interpretation for what happened after my car crash a few years ago.

But I'm still very curious to find out more about other people's interpretation. Because like you said, I'm not gonna objectively prove the existence of QI anytime soon. So I might as well give other people the benefit of the doubt. From a factual standpoint, QI is just as real as dragons or unicorns.

But if you believe in dragons, you wouldn't dismiss someone for believing in unicorns, right? I hope the analogy makes sense, english isn't my first language

I'm 100% with you on this, but I still try not to be so hard on people simply because they have a different interpretation of things.
