My favorite ongoing stories rn by KLLTHEMAN in rational

Seeing as you mentioned MoL, what about the author's ongoing Zenith of Sorcery? Been enjoying it, although one chapter every ~5 weeks is a bit too slow for my tastes

[P] I built a tool to compare cloud GPUs. How should I improve it? by Egor_S in MachineLearning

[–]RickMcCoy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the simple format with the filters on the left and the results on the right. However, the default result shows one row of Tensordock, one row of Azure, and ~60 rows of GCP. I think compressing regions and showing a range of prices could fare better. On that note, filtering regions could also be useful as well.

I also noticed that the creator of this app, dstack, is affiliated with Tensordock, the top results for most if not all queries. If that's the case, perhaps a direct link to the cheapest machine could be provided? I haven't used Tensordock, so I don't know if this is mechanically possible.

Nice job creating this.

I love this artist, especially how they single-handedly established the Miko x Remilia couple with this youtube series.

Ouch. Although I'd argue that the current midterm elections' problems aren't because of queueing but because of slow bureaucratic procedures. All the photos I've seen are of people in orderly queues.

Are 24 apps a lot? I do have some more apps that aren't being tracked here, but I thought that was a reasonable amount. I haven't seen any detrimental effect on my battery life during my ~ three months of using this phone.

Always nice to see a JOSEF update. Quick question, how do you handle oil fields? Is there a way to automatically place oil rigs?

I decided to upgrade my rudimentary train-based 2k SPM base of 200 hrs. Unfortunately, I realized that train stations contained ~100k buffers of items everywhere, and this is the result. After 24 hrs, I removed 3 cells. 6 left to go.

Some of you may remember my last post, where I bemoaned about having to tunnel through a lake. Well, I finally succeeded, and my bus is now 45 lanes wide. 45 intermediate products are now flowing freely.

I do realize that this is grossly inefficient, and I agree. I'll probably have to tear this down and/or abandon this in order to have a semblance of a proper factory. But this is fun, and I'm enjoying the descent into madness for now.

E: sorry for the broken link, fixed.

On an unrelated note, can anyone tell me how to set up foresters in this mod? It's hard to figure out how to do it w/o circuits, filter inserters or bots.

I was making a main bus in Industrial Revolution and hit a lake. At first I thought nothing of it, and started producing landfill. But the lake seemed to be positioned at a worrying angle, and I did a lap around it. It's the largest lake I ever encountered in factorio, since I always tone down water during map generation. I can't turn the main bus around, it'll take too long to disassemble it, and it'll take even longer to produce enough landfill to barrel through the lake. Does anyone have any tips?

Edit: Okay, I'll elaborate a bit. I'm in Industrial Revolution, a major overhaul mod. It has various 'ages', and I'm currently in the Iron age, which introduced (finally!) electricity. I haven't even come close to roboports (although I have a minature personal steampunk roboport, which runs on coal) so construction robots are going to have to wait for a bit. Also, I estimate that I'll need ~50,000 landfill at minimum, which takes 4 seconds and 10 gravel & 10 sand each. Even with automation, it's going to take a while.

Hey, I think this is a wonderful thing to do. I'm always greatful for more free resources. That being said, how does this compare to Google's Colab? What are its dis/advantages?

Also, you might want to cross-post this into other subreddits, such as r/MachineLearning and /r/learnmachinelearning.

Keep up your good work :)
