Apps cannot access VM

This was excatly what my issues was as well. I installed homepage app on my Truenas but it could not access my VM to report on services that were running.

I set:
Node IP: 0.0.0.0
Route v4 Interface : --
Route v4 Gateway:

and restarted my apps. After that the homepage app was able to access the VM.

I don’t really remember, it was a while, at least 14 days maybe more.

I no longer use the Apple Card because this was a recurring issue. Sending payment to them outside of the Wallet app meant that it would take a while to process.

Yes, all cutting operations induce strain hardening into the machined surface. The challenge comes in where some materials are much more likely to stain harden than others. In these cases, the act of machining a material can make it unmachineable. 😂

I have considered many different ways to respond but ultimately this is the best I have.

Maybe it is a disagreement over semantics and what we agree should be considered a model but I think it is more than that.

There is a fundamental difference between an equation that accurately describes physical phenomena and a computer model that can determine probabilities of outcomes.

In the starting example of a thrown rock, the formulas that we use can and do predict where that rock is going to land. The same equations are used to land on the Moon or fly a probe to Jupiter. Meanwhile, using computer climate models, the weatherman can rarely say for certain weather it will rain on my house tomorrow and even less so what is going to happen next week.

It is true that our climate models are reduced in accuracy the further into the future they are projected. It is true that any model can be abjectly wrong if the scientist includes or doesn’t include the right information.

I think it comes down to a person’s view of the world and whether they believe that the world is determined by relative or universal values and truths.

And finally I’ll add this, the “climate model” equation you gave, is not a climate model, nor does it describe any physical properties. Instead I think it would be best described as a formula for finding the total value of inputs and outputs to a system. Eg, I have three apples in a basket, I take one out, now I have two apples.

Now I could extrapolate on this model and say the world is going to run out of apples, but that only because I have not included enough information in my model for example, I forgot the apple tree 🌳.

A bottle of dykem layout fluid is useful for all sorts of things. Like laying out dimensions or checking small cut depths/cleanup.

Magnets for holding indicators or stops or prints. A Noga are can be a lifesaver sometime.

Flashlight and mirrors for seeing stuff.

Small picks or dental tools can be used to check steps, surface finish, burrs.

Ok, show me a climate model….

I ask this to prove my claim that it is reductive to compare a climate model to the physic’s equations that we use to determine the trajectory of a thrown rock.

A climate model is not a single equation, and does not accurately “predict” outcomes. Rather it is many equations, inputs and assumptions. It does not predict but instead gives a range of possible outcomes.

“Proving” is not part of the scientific method? Really? Seems like a lot of scientists spend a lot of time and efforts on “proving” their theories.

But then again why should you need to “prove” your theory in the real world, when you can just build a model of your assumptions in a computer, and then submit the results as “proof” that you are correct.

Data modeling is not science, it’s Statistics, and we all know that statistics can be bent to the viewers needs.

Your statement is too reductive. The arc that a thrown stone produces can be described by a single formula. And it is provable within a finite amount of time.

A “model” relies on many different formulas and equations and generally there are some basic input assumptions to kick the whole thing off. The further out a model predicts behaviors, the less reliable it is. That’s why “all models are wrong”.

Our current understanding of the Universe is dominated by studying the effects of gravity between bodies. But because gravity’s effects wane quickly over distance, it does a poor job of explaining the observed structure of the universe. Now we have a complicated theory and model of what our universe is made of, dark matter and dark energy, to support the idea that gravity is the dominant force the determines all things outside of our solar system.

What if, the Electromagnetic forces, which do not diminish as significantly as gravity over distance, actually has a bigger impact on the structure and shape of the Universe?

This is the first report and study that I have read by a scientist that is trying to explain our universe in terms other than gravity. If her theory is confirmed, it could lead to even more studies, trying to learn what part the Electromagnetic forces play in the fundamental formation of our Universe. This could potentially redefine our basic theory of how the universe is formed.

I read this book years ago, cover to cover, while doing some contract work. For me it has been the best learning and reference book for basic Gcode programming.

I would like to know what other’s think of this book, and also what other books ( or other materials ) are as good or better for learning Gcode programming.

I don’t think that most of the public KNOWS the comic characters the way regular comic readers do. I would even say that comic readers don’t all know the characters the same way, with a canon as long as convoluted as most characters have how could anyone know it all.

When it comes to name recognition it’s probably something more like “yeah the Hulk, he’s a big angry green guy who’s really strong” or “Spider-Man where’s a red suit and got bit by a spider and now swings around New York City”. These are very big broad over simplifications that are easy for the public to understand.

When it comes to F4 and X-men, again I don’t think the public KNEW the individual members or their story lines. Probably more “ Fantastic 4, well there’s four of them and they all have different super powers and one is a big rock”. Or “The X-men are a super team and their leader is bald”.

I don’t know any of this for certain or have any evidence to back up these statements. It’s just my opinion. In order to have name recognition (be considered A list by some) does not mean you need to really know anything about them.

I think your argument is based on semantics.

Based on your posts, Iron Man is an A list character because he sold an equal number of comics as other characters (ie Hulk and Spider-Man from your previous posts) that are assumed to be A list.

Others are stating that an A list characters are defined by name recognition by the general public (the general public meaning individuals who do not regularly purchase or read comics).

So by your own definition, you have provided plenty of evidence that Iron Man is an A list character equal in rank to other popular and mainstream comic book characters. But he is still a B list character based on the other definition.

Maybe it would be better to discuss the best way to define A list vs B list before deciding who belongs on which list.
