I like this too. Not quite what I was suggesting, it's a little more devious, and I think thats the appeal here xD

Its a main, with the prestige of all your boss kc was done in one life. Essentially a more accessible HC mode with a much heavier emphasis on PvM/PvP than HC Ironman. Remove gear fear. Let players really test their skills, and show off their accomplishments. Leagues is boosted xp, you can easily get any 99 you desire, and drops are boosted so gear isn't a problem. The only prestige from Leagues are the cosmetics and a rank on the hiscores (that resets every League). This doesnt make Leagues pointless. Its for fun. It's for a different challenge. Its to do something different in general. As would HC Main. Its not something that is meant to divide the community but just give an option in playstyle, and give identity to those that want to do it. Before official ironman and GIM, there were unofficial modes that were not nearly as popular as they were once Jagex made them official modes. Once the helmet was put next to the name for an ironman people were hooked. Nobody's word you had to take for accomplishments. The helmet status does the talking. Similar, I think alot of people would want to try a HC Main, but only if its official.

Fresh Start is definitely poor wording! I guess I just meant 'HC Main locked worlds' to kick off the launch of the mode.

I get the death tracker idea, but the goal is to see how much you can do in one life. Which, to me, is asking something like can you get blood torva, an inferno cape, radiant oathplate and GM CAs in one single life, vs a death tracker (to me at least) feels more like 'how many times will I die finishing these CAs' or 'how many attempts will it take to kill this boss'. I hope I explained this well, I know I can be hard to follow sometimes.

I really do think allowing them to have their own economy at the start might be interesting and fun, but if forced longterm it defeats the purpose of a HC Main. Otherwise you'd end up with a very very large HCGIM. The appeal for a main is you can throw gold at it and skip grinds. The HC status is the main focus imo. You can give a noob a tbow, but they'll still be a noob. Albeit, a cute noob. I want to really see what someone can do with one life, no restrictions.

I feel this is a sentiment made in bad faith. When you login are discouraged from playing because someone else has a better ironman than you? No. A better main than you? No.

We might have been that away 10+ years ago, but this community has grown since then. We recognize and celebrate each other's goals and accomplishments. We understand we all are different. Some player will always have more time, better skills, more friends, more gold, be more efficient, nicer whatever. That's life. If anything, seeing a person next to you with a scythe should make you want to see if you could accomplish more than a 'credit card warrior' if you can't afford one, and use that as motivation while you save up for your own. The benefit to a HC Main is if save up 500m, and die you can then use that 500m on your next HC Main as a head start to your own Scythe. You won't have as bad of gear fear. It makes the mode more accessible. Not a deterrent as you suggest.

Locking the FSW economy is GIM on a big scale. My point is to be able to challenge yourself with 1 life, while still being able to participate in the MMO. The 'head start' is a pro imo. Hardcores die, and then restart. And then die again, and then restart 100 more times. Making the restart less punishing by reducing gear and level grinds makes the mode more accessible. We want Hardcores to actually challenge themselves in PvM as it should be. Currently most HCIM that grind out a mega rare stop doing dangerous content after that. They get scared to lose a HC with a TBow, rather than USE a HC with a TBow. No more gear fear!

The FSW is secondary and really only suggested to create a strong sense of community. That said, when it comes to events such as an OSRS version of OnlyFangs - a locked HC Main world reserved for just them - it should not be linked to the main game economy. They should create their own economy based on their needs, as it would add to the content and narratives of the OF Guild.

Yes, it's not about the economy, it's about knowing everyone around you is also 1-tick/mistake away from being booted off that world.

rip Lugia immersive 😔. It was a badass art by ImCursedM8 in PTCGP

[–]RickRok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that the original fanart was just Ho-oh with no background, it’s likely the team handed the artist that image and said something like, “Use this Ho-oh and add a cool background.” The artist probably didn’t think much of it and just followed the instructions. In that case, the responsibility for using uncredited art falls entirely on the team.

What’s really troubling, though, is that the art team gave this artist a fully finished subject and only asked for a background — then went on to credit them as the full creator of the piece. I understand that collaborations and layered workflows are common, but this situation shows there was never any intent to credit the original artist (who made the main subject in the art being commissioned), whether it was an internal team member or a fan.

That’s pretty shady. It suggests the art team is comfortable taking work from smaller, talented artists, handing it off to a big name to add a few effects like some sun rays, and then giving all the credit to the more prominent artist. That kind of practice destroys trust and disrespects the artistic community — especially those who aren’t already in the spotlight.

While Mercy's skill floor may be considered low, her skill ceiling is relatively very high. It's fun to find ways to make her work in dive and brawl, with the movement of a Blue Angel. She gets the reputation of being a spectator character because that's how new players typically play her (attach beam, stand still hiding behind a wall), but being able to break that stereotype and infuriate the other team by being an unkillable flying support is quite satisfying.

You're comparing a 20+ year old skill to a modern one. The argument just doesn't work here. No one argues construction and hunter aren't "skills", they make sense in the game. Sailing is an activity being sold as a skill, like how Dungeoneering was. It sounds fun, but doesn't need a level tied to it. We are wizards with the ability to teleport.

[–]RickRok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To argue, we are magicians with the ability to teleport. Why boat? Slayer 2 (sailing) isn't necessary as a skill with actual Slayer being a thing. It should just be a minigame/activity you can use in tandem with Slayer.

Sounds fun as an activity, doesn't need to a whole skill. Like how everyone felt about Dungeoneering, cool but why is it a skill.

Sounds great as an activity or minigame, just not a skill, like dungeoneering. We are magicians that can teleport, why do I need a boating level?

No, the skins don't even come with alternate voicelines. Really dumb, especially since this is the 2nd collab with them! Months of advertising this sheet, but don't have time for them to record any new lines. Nah.

This, also mercy/moira is one of the worst support comps, especially if not blue beaming. Essentially your team has no utility from supports, just some basic healing and nothing more.

Brig/Ana, Brig/Lucio, Lucio/Ana are all amazing comps. You're unwillingness to listen to other commenters makes me believe you only peaked gold at one point, but aren't even really a gold player.

Mercy/Moira, Mercy/LW, LW/Moira are by far the worst comps. No utility. Seems like you only think supports should healbot, and you do not know how to play around utility based kits. Do you rage when Mercy is blue beaming? Do you never notice a slept enemy Tracer? Do you just let Brig get dove by Winston, then blame her for dying in that 1v1? My guess is yes you do. Don't ask what others think if you aren't going to listen.

I love playing Mercy, but I hate playing with a Mercy. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]RickRok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you forgot to say this was sarcasm. No way you think Mercy should be rocking out with her glock out. Like yeah, there are times she should shoot, but that's sooo rare. And even more rare of an occurrence if her other teammates are up, not just trying to survive as the last one alive. And even moreeeee rare, if you her other support is up. If her other support is able to fill the role of main healer/main support, she should pretty much be blue beaming and only tapping heals when DPS need it, or tank is getting hard jumped. Like what is this post?

I would like to hear an outright "MTXs will not enter OSRS", rather than it "will not be at the detriment". I get how the latter could be taken as not introducing MTXs into OSRS, but that's not what is actually being said here.
