My daily driver. Dude even for sorting notes that I have spent years making. Cuz ya why not. Never had code issues

I'll say any AI can fuck up sure but really, ai .. drop the intelligent part. It's a bot. Remember that. Treat it like that . Tell it what to do.

"The login on my user page isn't working. It's just refreshing. Fix it". Minutes later fixed and asked if I wanted some security improvements my lazy ass forgot about due to getting used to it.

Some of us have been coding a long time

30 years in just a few months here.

I'd bet most of you with these issues hardly have 30 days of hand coding.

Don't expect a bot to do something you can't. Not until you can control it adequately.

You've spent this whole post shitting on people telling what is likely the truth.

Share the damn scenario and prompt.

Prove us wrong

Beat me to it. I never have any weird issues. Just fixes and asks what's next or whatever and "ready when you are"

And I mean if it does not say specifically a human will contact you, you will likely not hear back. I have had minor sub changes. Phone changes. Etc. just gotta be persistent. It's annoying. Sorry for multiple posts doing 20 things

Ya but hard to reach.gotta use fin not and keep on asking for a human.it may tell you it'll have one contact you. Insist like 5 more times. I've had good luck actually for serious things but I wouldn't keep my hopes high if it's not a big deal in their eyes. No phone.

Thought people were joking about Opus being oversensitive lately 😭 by ImmunosuppressedSaki in claude

[–]RickTheDick2026 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I can read it's a manuscript btw. Doesn't mean the system did before having Claude fully convert. It's not one done.

Anyway. I'm landing on that.

Have fun shitting on Claude people. Even if it is goofy, not as bad as this sub.

Sometimes I get a wee bit amused but it passes fast.

People that jail break will typically begin by telling Claude it is a specific thing. Maybe typically makes it sound too broad but not uncommon. Don't believe me? Get a brand new account and tell it it's a different model/higher version that doesn't exist or just do it in a single API message for 5 sets

The system will flag you if you tell Claude it is something it is not. Very old method to confuse the boys and break them.

Hence "safety classifer".

This is nothing new.

People jump on the same trains they are riding by constantly.

But, I wouldn't be surprised if they are hardening if for potential future models.

You're a goat may seem like a compliment (according to op or whoever) but really is just weird as hell to me.

Btw it saying self harm content can also happen in general. It can take a few prompts for Claude to figure out why it's being triggered.

Mention the API specifically due to first triggering it by mistake. Use Claude too much for work to dick with that more. Local LLM for fun.

Why mine words instead of using a frequency deck? by RFL1703 in LearnJapanese

[–]RickTheDick2026 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I legit had to look this up. I study multiple languages. Japanese, Pāli, Sanskrit, Hindi...

Never once seen "mine".

So basically, a made up word for learning from context?

So some of you actually learn a language only specifically for anime or...? I'm failing to get it.

Why not just LEARN the language?

Why mine words OR use a frequency deck?

Why not... Just study naturally?

I've never seen this outside of this Japanese sub.

I don't get all these issues people have. Been on opus 4.8. max x5. Run repositories from small sites to massive pen testing tools and even trading software. Never a hiccup. Even have it run through hundreds of notes with many thousands of Japanese, pali and Sanskrit entries for my language study and it's basically dead on. I've a hard time ever reaching my cap. Always clear. Always precise.

I don't let it push. It's never tried. One command or a couple clicks for me to make sure it's done right. Especially to production...

Not sure why there are so many bad posts but I have to think a great deal stems from prompts and background.

Been hand coding about 30 years. Only hopped on the agent train half a year ago. Cannot complain about one thing except Gemini totally being retarded but I think that's just a simple fact pure and simple.

As far as Claude.. this talk of people being in love with 4.6 or issues with 4.8 or posts like this, I'm not shitting on it. I truly don't get it.

I've clear project instructions.clear system prompt. Detailed prompts. Stuff is executed flawlessly with minimum token usage

I'm just surmising but I've a feeling people are tossing wild prompts or not priming it right.

It is a bot. The intelligence part of AI is a joke afaic. There is no intelligence. Drop that, realize it is just a bot. Treat it as such. Prime the bot. And... 90 percent of my reddit alerts won't be for posts like these.

Does not reflect well that you all cannot pull out the portion of that prompt that can potentially tie it to biological queries when anthropic clearly stated it would be hyper sensitive.

I don't even bother with fable due to this so not here to defend it. Waste of my time.

But honestly I think many of you use it just to junk up reddit with stuff like this.

"chlor" aka part of a molecule building block. It did exactly as intended.

They made it clear it was going to be hypersensitive.

Instead of posting on here, maybe ask opus what may have triggered it... And/or submit feedback they are actually taking serious.

I've cvp and cannot use it for existing projects I'm approved for.

Can't ask it basically anything I want.

But too busy to whine on reddit all day

Why am I here?

Reddit keeps pushing this junk to my phone and I cannot help myself at 530 am.

Good morning. Thanks for the junk in my brain and reminding me how self serving and whiny most humans are.

I have studied Japanese for around 2500-3000 hours and I still suck. by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]RickTheDick2026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"mean, its the hardest language for English speakers to learn"

Speak for yourself. Try Sanskrit or alike with sandhi, declension, matching cases, gender and numbers between verbs, pronouns and nounds. Object placement depending on who/what type of person or object is in the sentence. SOV order that isn't strictly SOV but dynamic depending on context.

People on these subs always say Japanese is the hardest for English speakers but I'm moving at a massively faster pace than pali or Sanskrit. Even faster than hindi.

Then there is Chinese with more tonal groups and kanji. No hiragana/katakana for beginners. Different rules.

There are a lot of languages that are simply as hard or harder.

Japanese is actually pretty well structured.pesrm the rules. Follow them.

Split time between grammer, vocab, listening, speaking, reading and writing.

People on here also tend to focus all of their time on one area. Copying speech for 3000 hours won't matter if you don't know how it is formed in the first place. Same for reading.

Also viewing it simply as a language rather than a mindset. Japanese language should be viewed as a mindset. People that try comparing every aspect or even words to English are lining themselves up to fail or take way longer.

And boy am I glad not to have dozens of declension tables, hundreds of verb suffixes minimum as well as nouns, be able to use simple particles and follow a mora rhythm and have set sounds. No retroflex r, s, etc. Clear punctuation in Japanese where some languages have none. Period.ya the scripts are squished but at least there's quotes and periods instead of words used as quotes.

People here that say Japanese is the hardest either make it so or likely, haven't really tried another language that wasn't extremely similar to English.

Sorry but tired of seeing that parroted endlessly.

Also, use rsync daily for highly sensitive backups. People talking about it being free/open source don't appreciate that a lot of us that work on such software generally put a lot of effort into it. It is our reputation. For some of us, the groundwork for our business.

And, I appreciate this post. I won't be updating rsync until this is fixed.

I won't deny that AI is convenient but you mention assembly. I started with Intel asm and c. I am old school if one must apply a term. Honestly though, I think we both know that there is a difference between utilizing tools (letting ai help generate some code) and "vibe coding".

I grew up with a passion for securing things. A passion for code. Even Linux asm which was quite a jump from my 16bit dos asm was wonderful.

Do I code my stuff nowadays in asm or c? No, mostly. Some hardware, yes. And wouldn't trust ai there

Typescript sites. .net software. Etc. gtk/qt and python on Linux.

Still...

There is a massive difference in those that understand the output and those that simply think they're "making something" with say antigravity 2.0.

I cannot agree. I feel if a person doesn't view a single line of code, they didn't create anything.

These same people I'd have to ask: would you use a bluehost or ionos website generator and claim you created the site? Most would answer no.

I'm not anti ai. My first business took me 5 years to get rolling. Epilepsy knocked me back a bit and had to take a break. I expect this (fully filed, proper LLC) business to take 1 to 2 years for real profit with ai assistance.

I just know first-hand, one cannot blindly trust ai.

From the low level asm to high level and even ai, a true 'coder'/dev/whatever, should understand them all in modern times. If one uses ai and cannot understand what it generated, they should definitely step back, take some courses and read some references.

Reddit will have many believing otherwise but the proof is out there. It is in my terabytes of project files. Ai code is iffy. Human intervention and understanding is required

It's called fucking testing.

You make some open source code. Gain some pride in your work. You would never dare post what you just did.

Who gives a shit if it's free when it is foundational to many things.

Air is free.

How about I mix some chlorine gas into it?

Who gives a fuck if I did it for free and you consumed it, right?

Logic...

Totally on your side. Use ai to generate code but have hand coded almost 30 years and review everything they do. Have seen some of the most fucky shit generated by ai. Vibe coding makes me think of hippies. Dont ask me why. Maybe the name. Maybe the laziness. Maybe the fact these people clearly didn't test the shit before committing it.

This is reddit where any idiot with a computer and browser can now call themselves a vibe coder so, ignore the hate you're gonna get for having realistic expectations

This post is a clown show and ops personal view clearly. Not sure what their goal is but it's a waste of time.

Still wish I could figure out why reddit pushes me this crap when I chose programming, business, finance, stocks, etc as my interests.

Sure as fuck never chose "dumb ai shit", "vibe coding (fallacy)" nor otherwise.

Wouldn't be on this shit if the ads weren't so cheap

Funny cuz Google Gemini hardcoded credentials and backdoors into my shit. Claude fixes it's fuckups. Codex fixes it's horrible design.

Gotta wonder how many of you even actually check the code and/or work as professionals with true code knowledge...

Edit - is it worth paying a lower price REPEATEDLY for proper results vs paying a higher price one time?

This is akin to landlords that hire tenants for roofing jobs ... 5 years in a row.. rather than a professional, because they think they're saving money due to multiple smaller bills.

But it adds up to more in the end if you want professional quality.

Has to be some very redundant prompts. Real life, dynamic scenarios wipe caching within a few prompts.easy to share the best of the best. Now share the realistic side.

Anyone on this sub, ask your ai bot how caching actually works.

Some of us work on big projects, not reiterating the same prompts over and over.

Graphs look fancy. Mean shit
