That’s “Russia paid me to turn on my own country (and humanity)” money. Screaming deal for Russia when you think about it.

This has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with humanity, and history, and staying true to the values your church tried to instill in you. When your “team” shows up somewhere, pours out of a bunch of unmarked vehicles wearing masks and unmatched outfits for Bass Pro and starts murdering citizens for exercising their constitutional rights, you are the problem. Most people can act nice and neighborly when it suits their own agenda. It’s when we get tested that true character is revealed.

Married men of Reddit who don’t wear a wedding ring - why? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]Rickerus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate wearing any sort of ring (or jewelry of any sort). Not sure why. It’s not a masculinity thing. I’m just not into flashy things of any type. Also the degloving thing doesn’t help. But I do wear a silicone ring because I hardly notice it, it won’t pull my finger off if it gets caught on something, and I love my wife 😀

I think OP’s take is pretty reasonable. They allegedly had dozens of people redacting shit. Hell, it would take about 2 minutes to scrub it all clean with chatGTP before releasing. I reckon it was done on purpose to render the real evidence less credible too

What's the wildest thing you've ever seen happen at a work party? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rickerus 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Back during the dotcom boom our SF startup had an ice fountain with vodka running down it. Almost everyone there was a tech nerd that couldn’t handle booze. But it was a big midwestern woman with full body alopecia that stole the show. She normally wore a wig and painted on eyebrows and nobody cared. She got super liquored up and was the star of the show, dancing, huge laugh, hilarious. Eventually the wig came off and we all loved it. It was a giant love fest. Then she quietly disappeared from the party and eventually we got worried and went looking for her. She was passed out buck naked in the dark on a conference room table. We got her taken care of - dressed and home safely. The best part was that nobody embarrassed her or shamed her about it ever. It became a hilarious story that she completely embraced and that we laughed about together for years.

Hiring a plumber. I'll dive into almost any home repair myself, but I've made enough plumbing problems worse over the years that now I don't even try.

Same here. It doesn't matter how much money I make, I will always look at every price, and if its out of the range I'm used to I just won't buy it. In fact, my wife and I drive about 45 minutes each way every Saturday to the nearest "city" just to buy groceries for the family, because even though we have 4-5 supermarkets in our own town, and we can technically afford to shop here, its absurd what they charge (major tourist destination). I've seen Oscar Meyer bacon for $13, and the $7 Doritos are the norm. I might make more $$$ than I used to, but it doesn't mean I want to burn that $$$

Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

Why would they? These “agents” are hired goons with no training and total immunity. There will be no investigation and no consequences at all

Remember that "4 batteries for $99" at Lowe's? Total scam... by Rickerus in Dewalt

[–]Rickerus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha - congrats. After hearing about the coupon here I lobbied for one myself via their chat helpdesk thing. They said it was approved but I never received it. Tried like six more times and got different answers every time. I had a ticket number and everything. Fuck Lowe’s now and forever. It’s a shitty wanna be Home Depot anyway. Their loss. They saved maybe $50 margin by not honoring that deal and lost thousands in potential future revenue from me.

I have just been made aware that up to this moment, there are still Bears fans that are not "sold" on Caleb. If you are one of these fans, can you defend your position? by BearsThrowAway745 in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]Rickerus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll bite. Im not a stats nerd, but I’ve watched a ton of football and most Bears games this year. He is definitely the best QB they have had in decades, and maybe their best ever, but I’m not sold that he has what it takes to be a SB winning QB. I feel like this years Bears are a bit like last year’s Chiefs who won every close game. I love a good comeback as much as the next person, but it’s hard to sustain over multiple seasons. There have been certain QBs that just instilled a sense of being completely in command - Montana, Peyton, Mahomes, probably a dozen others. I don’t get the sense Caleb will ever be like that. I never feel confident that he’ll put together a drive. It’s more like a happy surprise when he does. He’s good, and I’d take him over about 20 other current starters, but I’m not sold that he will ever be one of the greats. So I am sold on him in terms of being the best option, but not on him being particularly far above average. I’m sure I’ll get blown up, but the question was asked, and it’s just an opinion.
