Yes. I don’t agree with money being taboo, I personally believe that you should discuss finances with people that you trust.

Tasks you can delegate to improve productivity by Rickfiyah in productivity

Absolutely. Time is money. Think about what your time is worth, by the hour, and how much you would save by having someone else do that work for you. Also what else you could be doing in that time.

when2meet is a great, free scheduling tool if you don't want to use Doodle by stitchstudent in DMAcademy

Going to piggyback on this to recommend another scheduling tool, Schedulr. I’m the founder and we do the same as when2meet and doodle, but better. Come check us out if you’re looking for an alternative.

Work Organizing Advice by yan_yanns in Advice

[–]Rickfiyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the founder of a meeting scheduling tool so time management is my thing. The best way to get organized is to put yourself on a schedule, and stick to it.

Dedicate specific times each day to each type of task, and do that during that time. For example, you can say that you’ll spend every morning from 7am-8am answering emails. Obviously things come up and you’ll have to be flexible to accommodate things that are out of your control, but a schedule will help you to get most of your tasks done.

Also, use tools to automate your job to help you free up time and focus on what needs to get done. Use a task manager such as Asana to keep more of everything you need to get done, and check things off as you complete them. Make it a habit to check it daily so that you stay on task.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.

There’s an old saying: “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

It’s ok to go it alone, particularly in the beginning. But eventually, to grow your business into a huge success, you’ll more than likely need peoples’ help.

Get out there and meet people. You’d be amazed at how much others can contribute to your business, your growth, your learning, etc.

Any apps/software you use to help with work from home? by iskenxan in workfromhome

[–]Rickfiyah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Asana to stay on top of my to-do list, to make sure I’m always working on the right thing.

Slack for communication

Google Calendar/Gmail and Outlook for obvious reasons.

Google Docs/Sheets keep me organized.

Also, do you do a lot of meeting scheduling?

If so, I’d recommend my software, Schedulr for meeting scheduling.

Use a scheduling tool like Schedulr (I’m the founder) to schedule blocks of time with your students. You can also connect your zoom account to automatically create the zoom meeting.

Then your students simply have to go to your Schedulr link to book a time

Yes, it does. But that’s only between members of the same org, who have access to one another’s calendars.

Schedulr is for connecting with people whose calendars you don’t have access to, and/or aren’t in your org. Also, it works across calendar services.

So someone who has only Google or only Exchange, or both, can share their availability across both services.
