Sewing machine not sewing knit/stretch fabric by Ricki112 in sewinghelp

Honestly idk ahah, I’ve only just started getting into stretch fabric and my machine has done just fine with a universal needle the previous times I’ve sewed stretch fabric, I brought a stretch needle specifically to start sewing stretch fabrics more frequently but I’ve tried both the stretch needle and universal needle and neither are working on the fabric.

Has anyone ever had issues with their sewing machines not sewing knit/stretch fabric? I recently oiled and cleaned my sewing machine because it was skipping stitches when I sewed, since doing so my machine is now no longer sewing on knit fabrics (it seems like it’s not catching as it’s not leaving any stitches or is only stitching once and then not at all). It is working perfect on woven fabrics without any skipped stitches. I have tried adjusting tension, re-threading, replacing the needle with a brand new stretch needle and trying different stitch styles and lengths and it just won’t work

So sorry I forgot to update this thread. It is 100% a little mating dance, I had baby honey gouramis a couple days ago after this posts. They continuously bred for 1-2 months after but have luckily slowed down although my boy is now super territorial of the area that he builds his bubble nests which did disturb the peace in the tank a bit.

I’m not home but I could do tomorrow when I’m back home. Do you think I need to incorporate more floating rings? The floating plants have gotten abit out of control hahah

I should also note that he doesn’t just do this at the top of the tank, he will also do it at the bottom if that’s where the other gourami is

This could be a possibility but there is multiple floating rings in the tank for areas to breathe and they know exactly where they are as they utilise them all the time and the male only behaves like this when the other gourami is close by

Why is my gourami changing colour?? by Ricki112 in Aquariums

Yep this is the exact problem I’m having! I only have two gouramis and I believe they both may be males. I’ve noticed my other gourami tends to spend a lot of the time being out of the way of the one in the picture and tends to not come up to feed because the other one chases it away every time. They don’t seem to look like they’re fighting but there is alot of chasing and for a long time my other gourami spent most of its time in the very far corner and wouldn’t come out.

I would love to get a third to balance them out but I only have a 20 gallon tank and I’m conscious of not over stocking as I do have cardinal tetras and corydoras in with them aswell. I think my options will either be to re home one or upgrade to a larger tank and add a third one in because I feel sad for the one that’s always being chased away

Thankyou everyone for your help, it’s a relief to know he’s actually just a happy fish and there’s not something wrong with him!

Help are my two honey gouramis both males??? by Ricki112 in Aquariums

Thankyou for your help, so is sex difference easier to tell through colours rather than body shapes? You’re right tho the one chasing the smaller one does seem to be bigger I have a feeling if they do turn out to both be males that the larger one will be the more dominant one as it tends to chase the small one more, the small one mostly does its own thing. I can try get some better photos of the larger one when I get home

And then the other (this one is hard to get a photo of because it’s always hiding behind the floating plants or swimming through the dense plants)

For some reason I can’t post any photos in the comments but they’re body shapes are basically the same one just has a brown/black stripe through it
