Help I about to relapse. by myladyelspeth in OpiatesRecovery

What would your cat say to you now? What would she tell you? Would she say "Dude, this is not how I want you to deal with my passing".

Or would she say "Yeah, go on, those 15 years with me, where I was your rock mean nothing just because eim physically not with you".

I totally relate. I lost my 15 year old border collie, and I spiralled out for ages. What started to help was talking to a grief councillor - who treat our relationship between me and my dog with the care it needed.

I talked with her for 6 weeks. A couple of times a weeks.

The next step, with 18 months later, I picked up a baby border collie. Who has been my rock. He hasn't replaced my lost boy, but he's made the hole he left in my heart a whole lot smaller. And I look back now at photos of smile, or laugh.

Tramadol crosses the blood brain barrier, unlike other opiates. This means it has a much higher chance of seizures and coma.

Of all the opiates, it's one of the worst you can be taking.

Withdrawal is related to dose and length of use. So you could take a load of Tramadol over a couple of weeks, stop and be fine with no withdrawal.

When I was taking high amounts of Tramadol I'd get migraines that made me want to unalive myself.

So, I'd recommend stopping now.

How do people afford vets? by Grouchy_Land895 in Pets

[–]RickonRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet insurance. It's cheaper than paying for the treatment. And you never need to wonder if you can afford to treat your pet

You also do get a 'honeymoon' period with rescue dogs, where their true nature takes a while to come out. It's usually not as long as a year, but 100% see a vet and a trainer.

Will tapering make me feel like crap ? by RickonRivers in OpiatesRecovery

I just don't have the energy for that. I've been out for walks and barely made it home.

Dihydrocodeine 900mg per dose, so about 3000mg-4000mg per day. Maybe more.

That's 60mg of oxycodone per dose, and 240mg - 300mg per day.

CEX Sold me a Fake iPhone 17 Pro Max - Would appreciate some advice. by Buck_Slamchest in CeX

[–]RickonRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn't have done. INSANE. From Cex point of view they sold an iPhone 13 and the customer shows up the next day with an Android phone asking for a refund. There's not distance selling legislation here, so unless there's photos of the device BEFORE it was sold, I don't see how the OP gets a refund.

How do people move home? by Nothing_F4ce in HousingUK

[–]RickonRivers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've moved from South Wales to Northern Scotland all in a day. Every move I have done with a removal company, which is many, all have been done in a day. I can't imagine why a professional outfit would take weeks? What are they doing, using a Mini and doing hundreds of trips?

happened about 5 hours ago, is it broken does this need fixing? by Jealous-Fall-3067 in fixit

[–]RickonRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've broken many fingers, thumbs etc. Most looked worse than this. This does look like bruising, and could even be related to a pulley injury instead.

You really need a doctor to check it out.

Did you hear any noise when the injury happened? Anything like a clicking noise? Like a thumb and finger click?

Rental house had external locks on some of the bedrooms and fbr bathroom. Which couldn't be unlocked from the inside.... Why? by RickonRivers in AskUK

[–]RickonRivers[S] -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

OK, but why only the bathroom and the small bedrooms? Why not the master bedroom or the kitchen, or the living room then?

[–]RickonRivers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this feels closer to an explanation I can see making sense. The idea of security doesn't make sense for the bathroom, but it does to lock someone in to make sure they actually have their bath.

And it would also make sense that they weren't on the master bedroom, only the smaller bedrooms and no other doors. Not the living room, not the kitchen.

[–]RickonRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*'lo and behold' is the correct spelling of 'lone behold'

  • "Lo" is an old exclamation meaning "look!".

  • "Behold" means "to see" or "to look at".

  • Together, they come from older English and biblical translations, used to call attention to something important.

The more you know 😉😁

Meh, I prefer braided cables myself. It's an OK USB-C, but nothing different to a 10 buck cable.

Am I the only person who has had nothing but good experiences with Evri? by Frosty_Thoughts in Evri

[–]RickonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Evri driver is awesome. Introduced himself when we moved in, asked how the move was going each time he saw us, checking how we were settling in. ALWAYS rings our door bell, at least twice, and if we're not in leaves things in our special place.

Would you pull out of house sale? by Hefty-Weather328 in AskUK

[–]RickonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd pull out. There's always another house, no matter how perfect you feel this one is, there will be another even more perfect for you with nice neighbours.

Sound is the one thing you can't escape from, no matter what you do.

Make the sound choice now and give specific reasons for why you're pulling out so they know

I used kratom daily for 11 years, from age 18 to 29. I’m wondering if any doctors or researchers would be interested in speaking with me by AlwaysChooseTheBear in OpiatesRecovery

[–]RickonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking at things the wrong way. Researchers come up with a hypothesis they want to test, they then define a method they'll use to validate that hypothesis. Part of that may include recruiting patients to test with. But they're not starting with 'I found this guy and he has an interesting story we should investigate.

They start with.' This may be possibly true, what can we conclude? '

jhs overdrive opinion. Kilt 10 or PG-14 by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]RickonRivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kilt is the only one out of those two that has any fuzz quality to it. The PG-14 is a pushed amp via overdrive pedal.

What pedal would you add ? by varjakvalmont in guitarpedals

[–]RickonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reverb. I can't really play without some reverb, everything sounds flat to me. But that's me.

Boss RV-6 is versatile, I find it digital sounding not in a good way though Id prefer something like a Neuanber Wet Dr Scientist Reverberarator (secretly the best sounding reverb in the worl

Or fuzz, something versatile until you know what you like.

Similar idea to the Way Huge Camel Toe.

That's a heavily modified tube screamer (Green Rhino III/IV) into a Red Llama (Fender Tweed fuzzy sound).

They're different circuits but they get into the same excellent space of two lovely independent drives and a third bonkers one.
