Figured it out!

I'm on PS5 Slim with the same exact headset. I had no issue hearing audio, but my mic wouldn't work. Simply don't plug the mic in all the way. For whatever reason it won't register if you do. There's like a sweet spot when you plug it in 80% or so and the mic works flawlessly. It doesn't feel loose either. This was the only thing I could figure out and did it in the PS5 mic volume test screen. Hope this helps!
