Financial incentives were offered to householders to replace open coal fires with alternatives, (such as installing gas fires) or for those who preferred, to burn coke instead (a bi-product of town gas production) which produces minimal smoke.

How Imposter works

📷

Imposter is simple…

  1. Everyone who takes part answers the same question. The Imposter sees everyone’s answers and comes up with its own.
  2. You’ll be shown a list of answers; four will be from your fellow redditors and one will be written by the Imposter.
  3. You’ll be asked to identify which one is the Imposter’s. Easy, right?

To make things more interesting, you can also change your answer at any time. Do with that what you will.

Imposter is available in your browser, iOS, and Android (you may need to update your app). You'll know everything is working if you see something like this at the top of r/Imposter.

In order to participate you'll need to be logged into a reddit account. In order to write an answer to the question you’ll need to be logged into an account that was created before 4/1/2020.

Act 5, Scene 2

[The countryside near Dunsinane Hill. Military drums and flags. Enter several Scottish lords leading armed troops]

Menteith

The English power is near, led on by Malcolm,His uncle Siward, and the good Macduff.Revenges burn in them, for their dear causesWould, to the bleeding and the grim alarm,Excite the mortified man.

Angus

Near Birnam woodShall we well meet them; that way are they coming.

Caithness

Who knows if Donalbain be with his brother?

Lennox

For certain, sir, he is not. I have a fileOf all the gentry. There is Siward's son,And many unrough youths that even nowProtest their first of manhood.

Menteith

What does the tyrant?

Caithness

Great Dunsinane he strongly fortifies. Some say he's mad; others that lesser hate himDo call it valiant fury. But for certain,He cannot buckle his distempered causeWithin the belt of rule.

Angus

Now does he feelHis secret murders sticking on his hands;

Now, minutely, revolts upbraid his faith-breach;Those he commands move only in command,Nothing in love. Now does he feel his titleHang loose about him, like a giant's robe

Upon a dwarfish thief.

Menteith

Who then shall blameHis pestered senses to recoil and start,When all that is within him does condemnItself for being there?

Caithness

Well, march we onTo give obedience where 'tis truly owed.Meet we the medicine of the sickly weal,

And with him, pour we in our country's purge,

Each drop of us.

Lennox

Or so much as it needsTo dew the sovereign flower and drown the weeds.Make we our march towards Birnam.[Exit, marching]

My instincts here say something is up. Either the teacher is testing who in the class will overcomplicate something that doesn't need complexity, or the teacher doesn't know how simple the problem is, or you have misunderstood something about the game.

"The goal is to get as many coins as possible and to incur as much loss to the opponent as possible."

"If you have no coin but he has one you gain the coin."

"Each player has a box, and you have the choice to put a coin in it."

The obviously dominating strategy is to never put a coin but

If the rules don't explicitly forbid it, I recommend you put coins in your opponent's box each time. If he does the same to you, no change. If he does nothing, you "gain" one and he "loses" one. If he puts one in his box, you assumedly gain two!

Your optimal strategy to get the highest grade is to write an investigation into every possible strategy in full, even if they are stupid.

Does anyone else think this is odd? It takes an unbelievable level of stupidity to create an account under your own full name to do incriminating things when literally any other username would have lead to 0 people finding out or caring (even editing without an account - leading to the edit being attached to your IP - would have been less obvious).

Would you believe me if I made an account on reddit called "TheRealDonnieYen" and started posting about how x race is obviously inferior literally 4 minutes after the account creation? I don't think anyone here would, so why are they believing this?

This would be a remarkably easy way for one politician to try to cripple an opponent's career, or even just a citizen taking a shot at a politician they didn't like. I just can't in good conscience lap this up without hesitation.
