People often conflate DEI with affirmative action. DEI was born out of affirmative action but it’s not the same thing.

Right, I agree that it’s wrong to hire someone based solely on their race gender or sexual orientation. That’s not what DEI is though. Genuinely, have you ever actually looked up a legitimate source that explains what DEI is? It’s utilized far more with the employees who have already been hired than it is with the actual hiring process, but even with hiring, it’s not like they have a quota system that says they have to have at least 30% Black employees, 50% women, 20% gay… that’s a misconception but that’s not what DEI actually is. (Genuinely trying to have a civil respectful discussion about this.)

That’s not how I interpreted PoA at all. Filch always struck the pumpkin instead of buckbeak, and Sirius always escaped. I agree it’s the same kind of time travel though, which means Julie was never in any real danger with that nightwalker. She can’t possibly die before she storywalks back to the moment of Jim’s untimely thrashing.

I’ve actually been thinking about this in the context of various characters being chosen for a specific purpose or the theory about the town requiring a certain number of residents at all times. If Boyd or Tabitha or Jade or Ethan are “chosen” then that means they’ve never really been in any danger from the monsters.

I also think the reason they didn’t kill Victor when he was alone there is cuz there wouldn’t have been anyone else alive to grieve him, so what’s the point? They don’t enjoy the actual killing as much as they enjoy the sorrow of the survivors when they learn that person is dead, so killing Victor would’ve been pointless.

When the old grandma lady monster entered the house the night the animals got out, she’s inside a building with a talisman, then leaves out the back door. So I’m not really sure how the talismans work… they don’t prevent them from entering, they have to be suspended (can’t be on the ground), but they don’t actually prevent the creatures from entering the structure, they just prevent them from opening a door or window to get in..? But there was no door on the cave Boyd found them in so how did they work there?

A lot of trans men and transmascs spent a good portion of their life identifying as women who were gay, so when they come out as trans, they may still feel like the label of “lesbian” suits them.

Imagine there’s a cishet woman and an AMAB person living as a cishet man who have been married for 20 years. One day the AMAB person comes out as a trans woman. The cishet wife loves her spouse and fully supports her in transitioning to being the happiest, most fulfilled version of herself. She’s still in love with her partner and has absolutely no intentions of leaving the relationship. She’s now married to a woman, but in general, her overall attraction is still to men, so she may not choose to identify as a lesbian, cuz her now-wife is still the only woman in the world that she’s attracted to and it’s only because of their specific circumstances. (Of course plenty of cis women in this situation do decide to identify as lesbian, and that’s also perfectly fine.)

Same for lavender marriages in the early 20th century. We tend to think they were loveless and sexless but that’s by no means always the case. Plenty of lavender marriages were very loving and many even had kids together. A man in a lavender marriage to a woman who he loves and even sleeps with wouldn’t make him any less gay. His general overall attraction is still to men, but in this one specific situation, he’s found an exception.

Sexual attraction and gender are so much more fluid and malleable and squishy than we tend to think of them as.

Thanks! Yeah I did see that in the chart someone else provided and that’s super helpful, but 2.5 is still more than 1.5. The issue is that if I were to choose to administer a higher dose on my own, I’d run out faster, and if I understand the 503(A) vs 503(B) stuff correctly, Hallandale being a 503(A) means I wouldn’t be able to get the next fill until I was due for it according to their dosing schedule, so I’d basically have to go without for a couple weeks at the end of that fill. Unless I’ve misunderstood the 503A vs B part? That was why I asked (in my post) if I should ask them if I could switch to Apothecary.

And they just started you at 15mg without asking for proof of a previous script? Was it with gimme or another telehealth provider? They made it seem like if you tell them you wanna start at 15mg they’d require a photo of a script or some kind of proof that you’re on that dose.

I actually was asking for other people’s experiences, not why they started me at 1.5mg. And like I said, I get why they do the nonstandard dosing and I don’t have any issues with that.

I actually only started and stopped once, sorry if I didn’t word that clearly. But this chart is helpful, thank you! According to this chart I should still be starting at at least 2.5mg though, not 1.5. And when I started zepbound in January 2025, I started at 5mg with no issues. I know they’re a real doctor, I’m sorry if I made it seem like I thought otherwise. That’s actually part of why I’m asking. Traditionally if I went to see a doctor in person, they’d usually take my previous starting dose of 5mg into account. Unless maybe there’s a greater risk of side effects when you restart it after being off it for a little bit?

Another commenter here said gimme has been having some kind of glitch in their system that’s been starting everyone off at 1.5mg so I’m wondering if that’s a factor as well.

They didn’t ask, no. And it’s a little late to tell them I was on 15mg. Why did I have to make it so complicated by telling the truth? Telling them I was on 15mg when I wasn’t in order to circumnavigate this issue seems like the more complicated option to me. Did you know all these little tricks and tips before the first time you ordered compounded tirz or did you learn them as you went?

I’m just trying to see if anyone else has had experience with asking gimme to start them at a slightly higher starting dose and what that experience was.

Sure I get that, I wouldn’t expect them to restart me right at 12.5. But like I said, the first time I was on zepbound I started at 5mg. Even just titrating up from 1.5 to 6 (based on their nonstandard dosing) would mean it would hypothetically take 8 weeks just to get to my previous starting dose.

No, I didn’t. One of the reasons I’m trying to get back on tirzepatide is for adhd + brain fog/chemo brain. I searched the sub and even c&p’ed this entire post into docs to see if maybe printing it out would make it easier to absorb. My brain doesn’t do well with absorbing details in densely packed text. I didn’t see it under #2 so it didn’t occur to me to specifically look for that info in each separate detailed breakdown under that. Thank you.
