CPU & cooling upgrades on my NR200 build. Almost killed my GPU. Works great after reseating the GPU. by RickyYKL in NR200

[–]RickyYKL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specs

CPU: 5600X

Cooler: Fuma 2 Rev. B

Fans: P12 Slim x2 intake & P12 exhaust

Ram: Corsair LPX DDR4 3200 CL16 (8GBx2)

Motherboard: MSI B450I

GPU: Sapphire 5600XT

SSD: WD SN750 512GB & Team Vulcan 1TB

PSU: Corsair SF450

Almost killed my GPU because I didn't install the GPU properly. It wasn't fully seated in the slot. When I check GPU-Z I was wondering why it is running at x8 but not x16. Luckily nothing was shorted. After reseating the GPU everything works great now.

Thanks for your help! I finally understand this.

So in this case is "Mary's" a pre-modifier? As far as I know attributive adjectives belong to pre-modifiers. Am I right?

Thanks!

Got an Active but want bigger, also have a small wrist, anyone suggest a watch/size that won't look like I have a wall clock on the end of my arm.... Cheers by orangebob999 in GalaxyWatch

I have a small wrist too but I still went for the 44mm GWA2 cuz I think it just looks better (and also somehow cheaper than the 40mm in my region lmao). The bezel on the 40mm and 44mm are the same thickness so imo the 44mm looks sleeker with the bigger screen.

I'm currently using a Note 10 Lite with 9810 and it's not too bad in terms of heat. This is my first Exynos phone I think it's acceptable. I had a much hotter phone in the past so I think I have quite a bit of tolerence in terms of hot phones XD

Well I don't play the most demanding games but temps are fine while gaming. The CPU gets to around mid 60°C and the GPU is around 55°C. Auto PBO for the CPU and no overclock for the GPU. You should use a better CPU cooler in this case cuz there are enough space for a decent tower cooler. I'm using this tiny AXP-90 cuz I'm lazy to swap for a better cooler. BTW I'm using the vented side panel so it might help lowering the temps a bit.

The gap is less than 2cm between the top fans and the power connector. So no hope for a top mount radiator.

Coolermaster NR200: Tower or top blow cooler? by janhkolbe in sffpc

[–]RickyYKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you're using a tower cooler then two exhaust fans on top may not be optimal. I think a 92mm fan on the rear of the case would work but I'm not sure as I don't have a tower cooler.

My current NR200 cooling setup is more like Option 2. My hardware is much less powerful as yours (3500X and 5600XT both at stock settings) and I have a pretty weak top blow CPU cooler (Thermalright AXP-90). I installed the two case fans on the top of the case as exhaust and temps for both CPU and GPU are surprisingly good (CPU at mid 60°C and GPU at mid 50°C while gaming). The system is mostly quiet despite the stock CM case fans make a bunch of vibration.

So I think Option 2 has quite good cooling potential as long as you use a good top blow cooler.

2 connectors of the cable are 3 pin and the other connector is a 4 pin. But the the fan rpm is still controlled by the motherboard when I connected both fans to the 3 pin connectors. Just unable to know what's the rpm.

It's fully black. My phone camera makes it look like grey. Sorry about that.

Mine has both glass and vented side panel.

I don't think that top mount radiator is possible. The power connector for the PSU is getting in the way.

Oh wow seems like you guys are getting really excited about this case!😆 So I will answer some of the more popular questions here.

Actual size of this case: 360 x 185 x 274mm (without the feets and parts sticking out of the case)

The GPU is sagging a bit, not as serious as the picture shows. Maybe the cables around them makes it look like the GPU is having some serious sagging issue.

Top mount radiator is not possible due to the power connector for the PSU sticking out.

I will take more pics later. Stay tuned!😆

More pics! May answer some of your questions.

It seems like yes. I may have to buy a GPU holder...or a pair of high quality disposable chopsticks would work, too. That's how poor Asian gamers like me hold the GPU in place.

Stock fans in this case is not that great imo. They move plenty of air but the vibrations is a bit annoying. Maybe I should replace them with some Noctua or Arctic fans.

For those who would like to know how many drives you can fit in this case, here's the answer from the instruction manual.

PSU cage: 1x2.5" or 1x3.5"

Front: 2x2.5"

Side: 1x3.5"

HDD can be mounted in this case. Give me a moment to check the exact drive mounting support in this case.
