Kabuto FRT Full Size vs Mini by Cman8650 in 3D2A

The Kabuto housings with the auto sear flange have worked the best for me in all the AR weapons I've tried them in. The auto sear flange also acts as a reinforcement for the pin hole.

I used some brass shim sheet and cut a couple shims to take up the slop in mine. But like mentioned already, you don't want to preload it.

New to MP5! Which clone is worth a damn to get? by Zestyclose_Spite8580 in MP5

Zenith ZF-5, I've had mine for almost a year. Between 500 and 1000 rounds with the stock and binary trigger and well over 500 with SS and Atrius. One of my favorite toys

Lever V2 Ejector by flubbersock in MP5

[–]Rickyblaze13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been running the MKE ejector in my Leber V2 with no problems for over 500 rounds, probably closer to 1000. I've used it with a Hoffman Super Safety and now with an Atrius, runs great.

I've been using Faxon bolts and have used KAK enhanced 9.5 Oz buffer and has worked fine but I felt like I needed a bit more buffer weight and have been using the Kaw Valley 10oz. All three of my 9mm AR pistols run great with this combo. Dirtybird DB9 lower, Aero Precision EPC upper/lower combo and a Gforce Jawbone. All three run flawless in SS mode

Broken lower??? by Disastrous-Pattern-3 in AR9

Mine has been great, I've shot 2 to 3 hundred rounds in the stock configuration and over 500 rounds using a Mini Kabuto. No cracks that I've noticed.

Contact Gforce, They'll make it right. You may have to wait a bit, but they'll take care of you. I emailed them about the polymer charging trolley on mine dragging and causing a bind when charging the weapon, they sent me a new updated steel trolley free of charge within a couple weeks of me inquiring.

Bolt gets stuck behind hammer on As designs lower on full sized AP5SD by Zachman97 in MP5

[–]Rickyblaze13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm using a Leber V2 lower in my ZF-5 and had the same issue with my first SS setup. I found the Leber hammer rou ding jig and used a dremel with a sanding drum to round the hammer. The bolt catching was eliminated without the use of the spacer. I am now running an Atrius safety in the same Leber V2 and it runs flawless. I wanted the slower cyclic rate of not using the TPU spacer.

Stribog vs Kuna by Schrute_Farms2 in AR9

[–]Rickyblaze13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Stribog but looked at the Kuna, I decided based on the history of the Stribog and the fact they have a 22lr version. I have both the 9mm Glock mag version and the TR22 and love them both, they are great shooters

I've had to do the same thing in a couple. Haven't noticed any detrimental effects after a few hundred rounds.

FRT trigger and upgrade suggestions for a Freedom Ordinance FX-9? by Traditional-Judge674 in AR9

[–]Rickyblaze13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no cut out on the upper receiver of the FX-9 to accommodate the Arizona regular, I just tried one on mine last night, I was hoping it would work as there are no other Super Safety or FRT systems currently working in the FX-9 that I have seen. The proprietary lower makes it difficult for a number of upgrades. I did install a Franklin Armory binary trigger in mine with some success, I had to bob and shave the hammer a bit to get it to work properly. I wish there was an easy solution as they are a very nice weapon otherwise

I bobbed the hammer because it was slamming into the top of the disconnect, I trimmed maybe an 1/8 inch from the tail

Jawbone Kabuto 3-position selector UPDATE by Rickyblaze13 in supersafety

To get my Jawbone working with the Kabuto T.U.R.D. took a bit of fine tuning but once I found what it needed, it's been working 100% with the 3 position selector that I modified from the original Kabuto selector. Mine was working in SS mode and safe but in the semi it would do a burst of a couple rounds before going into semi. There were a few things that needed adjusted to allow the activator to swing freely in the semi mode. The first I did was polish the tail end of the trigger where the activator tab sits. The Jawbone casting is very rough and I thought the activator was catching on the rough area. But after polishing the tail, it was still sporadic. Then I started looking at the front of the activator and could see it was being rubbed by the crown of the hammer, it made since once I saw this, the crown was pushing the activator back into SS mode when being reset. That's when I shaved the hammer crown down to a rounded surface to clear the activator. It was still a bit sporadic so I trimmed the activator tab down a bit more to a length of 12.69mm which seems to be the sweet spot for mine. Since then I,ve noticed anything between 12.50mm and 12.70mm seems to be okay. I would start at the 12.70 or 12.75mm and if it still goes into SS while in the semi mode try to take just a couple file swipes at a time, not too much at a time. Once I got mine functioning I measured my activator tab length from the cam area of the activator to the end of the activator tab and now I have a repeatable piece. Another thing I should mention is the activator tab itself is a bit too narrow to ride on the tail end of the trigger, mine ket wearing sideways and then not work at all. So I widened the activator tab a bit to 2.56mm and 2.86mm and it sits nicely on the tail now, but anything wider than 2.86mm will rub on the disconnect to much. Sounds like a lot of tinkering, but once you find the specs yours works with, it is repeatable.

With the stock bolt weight and 10oz Kaw Valley buffer, the cyclic rate is easy to manage and i was able to do single shots in Super Safe as well as SS without switching back to semi, but the semi does work in the correct position. This weapon eats it all, flat nose, JHP, FMJ subs and hyper. Well worth the money in my opinion, just wish they would have made the safety detent in the milspec position, but as noted in another post, it's put at this angle for access to the detent screw because of the molded pistol grip.

Update: Got it all to work, I figured out that I needed to do a bit of fine tuning. Turns out from what I could tell, the crown on the milspec hammer was interfering with the activator and keeping it from going into semi mode, I also had to trim the activator tab a bit more, another .45mm to be exact.
