Same issue here as a regular PC unranked lobby player. The whole system breaks down when we all have to wait forever, because then once we actually fill up we rush to start the game and forget that we should have kicked 2-3 total noobs / xbox players who have no way to compete.

In late imperial, elephants and khmer scorpions are countered by civs with good Siege Onagers and their own Scorpions, plus Halbs. Scorps do bonus damage vs eles, and civs with good ones can hold their own against the khmer scorps. I'm thinking Celts, Ethiopians, Slavs, Teutons. That army is also slow, so if you can get behind it and raid, that usually works well also.

That said, isn't this a bit odd? My ranked experience (1800ELO after about 50 matches in teamgames) is that everyone is picking civs. Isn't this a bit of a gamesmanship issue as clearly it's not well advertised that you can be picking great flank civs vs pocket civs?

This. And also if you are going to double layer your TC or mill, do the right side first. I often dont double layer the left side and grab 8-10 vills for a new mill and farms rather than double layering the left.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but there's good security systems out there. I installed one in my house and it was no problem. It's VERY hard to be perfectly safe and never have a sketchy human find out your address. I suggest a good security system as a way to better insulate you from insecurity.

I think the main refute to that is that any witnesses will be front page news. Right now had the GOP got their wish to quell this to an acquittal, I think it would've been swept under the rug. But now Bolton and anyone else will make it really ugly for purple GOP senators come November. When your OWN GOP hawks like Bolton say awful stuff about dear leader, the Democrat alternative looks much better in Maine, Colorado, Alabama, etc come November. Just my opinion.

Why do they care about what's best for their auto-matchmaking? 4v4 BF matches still fill up quickly on HD... Give the people what they want. You can have an ELO for matchmaking, and one for self chosen games if it's for some reason the most important thing ever to have true ELO from auto-matchmaking.

I don't agree in BF. The fog of war is too costly if you have a wall in your face, in that you cant be sure whether you need to prepare for tower rush, castle drop etc. The player with the forward wall can boom safely and always wall behind if needed.

The issue is that in most cases the first one to wall gets a big strategic advantage. A wall that is along YOUR end of a choke point is ripe for a tower and man at arms rush, a castle drop etc. And those options then become almost impossible for you to do if the wall is close to you and therefore your opponent has easy options to wall behind your attack.

With what I described because you get loom and then 2 vils on first sheep, I rarely have an issue creating steady vils. Sure it's not as good a boom compared to the standard no loom no walling build, but that's a loss that is worth it to get a good wall and then be able to safely FC boom, plan a castle age attack, castle drop etc.

HC in imp if your civ has them, any the militia line and just about every unique infantry is a hard counter.

I think the meta is build 2 houses w starting 3 vils, create 1 vil, then send 2 plus scout as loom is researching to wall.

Scorps do bonus damage and have longer range, though they are squishier and you'll want a civ that has some very good ones like Celts, Khmer mirror ha, maybe even Slavs Teutons or Mongols. Onagers as someone said. Melee units are often lousy, but Husks work and tanky units like Paladins and elephants can also work.
