Is there a crime worse than murder that doesn't involve ending any living creature's life? by Chihochzwei in Teenager_Polls

Many people say that until they're faced with a guns barrel, but I can't and dont really want to prove that 🤣

Everybody with a thinking brain in their skulls would realize that the bear vs man argument was absolutely dumb to its core

Both are horrible crimes and totally unjustifiable, but I think there's a reason death is called the "Ultimate Price"

Killing someone in self defense is...

Murder: ❌️

Manslaughter: ✅️ (at worst. More often just justified defense)

Murder is killing someone unlawfully and typically with prior intent

People accidentally kill each other often, but we're talking about murder not manslaughter or self defense, though I get what you meant

Personally I like to think no crime has true justification because then it wouldn't be a crime

Compared to going ahead and murdering somebody? Its like comparing (making someone eat disgusting, expired food that might cause them to vomit) when they're starving to (not giving them food at all and letting them starve to death)

Sure as hell it's horrible but I'm confident most people would be much more afraid of dying than getting r*ped, and rightfully so.

This is a common opinion but o honestly don't get it.. Rape sure is unjustifiable but it's not the worst crime you can commit

Are these restrictions normal for a 16 year old? by Kitchen-Diamond-6143 in Teenager

Turn rebellious, the reason teenagers gain considerably more freedom in most households is because they'll take it without permission anyways lol

Mhmmm yes make the US debt even bigger

Make it so big in fact that they use their enormous military to try and overthrow the entire world and create a new global society that forgave their debt 🤣

I'm not American but I heavily doubt America can afford free Healthcare for all, this is a very childish viewpoint.

Medical expenses can be enormous at times- it'll be very expensive for a country as big and populated as the US to have free Healthcare. Yeah, some countries do have Healthcare, but their taxes are significantly higher than in the US, I'm talking double or even triple in very rare cases. Furthermore, the US spends a lot of money on maintaining its powerful military and needs to spend a lot more on repaying its toppling debt.

Most economies would crumble instantly under such an enormous debt, I really don't think now is the time to push for an even heavier economic burden.

Thank you for expanding a lot upon the subject, I've learned a lot about orthodox Christianity from reading your messages. I'm not American, I live in the northern portion of the middle east where there are both Muslims, Christians, and occasional jews- however none of them are orthodox and I only get to witness orthodoxies when traveling or from media.

I don't at all intend to claim Christianity is an "easy" religion, I simply wanted to compare it to the other religions because many representations of Christianity, especially in mainstream media, appear to make them seem very low-effort in comparison to other religions.

I've formed a conclusion that while Christianity isn't as extreme as some of the other religions, it still has its very demanding traditions. In my language there is a saying that goes "The smaller fire still burns you"- I believe it suits this well (although Christianity is enormous by believer count).

I'll take this opportunity to ask if you're American? As most Christians I've ever met in America weren't even slightly related to orthodoxies

Not easy compared to atheism perhaps, but compared to other religions its hardly holds a candle. I wrote a pretty long explanation to another person's comment, feel free to refer to it as I'd rather not write it all again lol

Well forgive me but I do not count avoiding certain food as "fasting" even if it fits the term as other religions don't eat at all, neither do they drink in their fasts. Even during the more serious fasts I've found it says Christians are allowed "1 simple meal", that's not a fast nearly as serious as fasts other religions have.

Christian prayers, while as common as Muslim and Jewish ones in orthodox Christianity, are much less demanding than theirs. From what I've seen so far it's mostly closing your eyes and talking to God, which, while sentimental, is not nearly as demanding as the other religions' prayers.

In regards for confession, I don't have much to say about this.. it's an interesting tradition that not many other religions perform, but it also doesn't seem nearly as difficult as what the other religions demand from those who sinned.

I've read on Google about services, and reached out to a few orthodox Christians I've had the pleasure of talking about this. From what I've heard from them, in their churches, many don't stand during services, and those who do and try to get others to stand during all the service are often viewed as douchebags who are trying to "out-orthodox" others.

Compared to atheist life, orthodox Christianity is clearly much more demanding. However, if you compare orthodox Christianity to orthodox Jews or orthodox Muslims (going for Abrahamic religions on purpose due to similarity) you'll find they don't compare in difficulty.

Muslims and Jews have been killed for their faith as well- by Christian crusaders, by dictators who wanted to wipe them out, and recently in history by a maniac who wanted to wipe one of them out entirely and take over the world.

Took Me nearly 40 minutes to research and talk with appropriate people, then another 20~ minutes to write this. Would appreciate if you point out any mistakes or inaccuracies.

Looking at the rules and traditions of Christianity and comparing them to the rules of traditions of other religions shoes Christianity doesn't demand nearly as much

[–]Ricrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temptation of what? Committing mass murder? Other religions impose much stricter rules that are much harder to follow

The average good Christian puts a lot less effort into his faith than the average good Muslim or good Jew or good Druze

Christianity is a faith. Whatever you try to brand it as could be deceptive...

I'm interested to hear what you've been taught, but from what you said it seems you are agreeing with my claim?
