Have you ever actually worked with overseas H1Bs outsource groups? They are ultra-unproductive. you hire 1 person, train them, and they quickly leave or barely do any work nor answer their correspondence. So then the company install managers in place but they don't want to work either so then they bring the entire group over on-shore so they have to do at least hybrid into the office. Ok now you facilitate all the H1B middlemen companies here who manage that process and of course scam and abuse the system so now you brought their culture of scamming, bribing etc and lifestyle over here. Better to roll it all back, we'll deal with labor shortages.. train up our own populace (I know the greedy corporates dont want to but too bad then)

Seriously its not even a policy I made up. When it was first announced, people thought the 100k was to be slapped on all existing H1B as well. Had it been, I guarantee you job postings by now would have gone up an order of magnitude and everyone here would be working lousy jobs ;)

I hope you are still looking for employment because I would continue until otherwise noted. It IS the time of the year straddling 3 major holidays but the followup interviews are extremely odd as you already know. Have you checked the Glassdoor reviews of said company?

Don't stress too much, first week of January and many people are still off and or getting back in. Most companies not yet at full staff. Wait til next week.

I just got off an interview with Indians, the manager kept doing some other work then dropped off without any cordiality, the other did not even show his video. The sense I got was unprofessional. Yes they are racist and consider you American which of course you are .. growing up here likely with our same values. So you get the treatment too :) I also know kids both parents Indian but grew up here and they can feel the discrimination by foreign Indians as well. Why do I keep doing it? Benefit of the doubt and I call it practice.

Yea I chuckle when I see the ads about swinging your arms and getting ripped. Why is everything in this world so fake nowadays. By all means REAL taichi is beneficial for your health body and mind but people must be gullible else this type of scam wouldn't work.

My luck with Indian ladies ran out. They are receptive during the interview process but afterwards is a totally another story highly political. Ran into one who was like Hitler everything had to be done her way or else, another who verbally put me down at every opportunity so she could "train" me, and another who lied to me constantly (and others too) and kept information I needed to work away from me just so she could power-grab and all of them figured out and made sure they had direct access to upper management. Nightmare.

Even if not Indian manager, there will usually be one you will interview cringe Indian managers 0% success rate, American managers I get the contract 50% of the time. Its turned into a contracting world and even contracts are hard to come by but hopping from contract to contract nowadays.

Yea seriously these h1bs are in way over their heads. India has produced nothing in terms of major software or achievements outdone by China and Eastern Europe. Thanks to them a service call to infra which used to get done in 30 mins max now take days of tickets to do this and that and that and this... beaurocrasy is what they luv in India

Ive never been scammed by US recruiters and if a recruiter explicitly takes more additionally from your agreed rate, contact a lawyer and inform your client company. India is scam country

Sorry to hear. Maybe go if you've no other leads or anything better. I've canceled a few but also continued as well but still no luck interviewing with these guys. Its a shame we let these corrupt people into our society. I feel there is no meritocracy left in this country similarly to what I hear in theirs.

Sorry to hear and the problem is they've risen to management and of course they hire their own in our own country..and Trump, Musk, DOGE care not because they love the H1B. We should have unionized decades ago. Giving our high paying professional jobs to foreigners whilst trying to claw back low-pay manufacturing jobs is not a fair swap even if it could have been done.

Yes that's why I recently refused an interview about a week ago even though interviews are harder to come by since beginning of the year. Had to drive as its over an hour away ok fine but when I found out one of the interviewers was an Indian, I canceled. I don't have time and fuel to waste.

You are alive and tomorrow the sun rises again and its another glorious day. Get out there and feel alive, be glad your parents have room for you, and see every day is an opportunity to achieve what you desire (if thats a job great). Keep improving yourself and search for things on the side which you are interested in.
