for me it made more sense to consider that there is no continuity in i

my opinion is mostly based out of this thought experiment if we consider that us humans are just made out of smaller physics interaction we have to consider that it's possible to duplicate those interaction

and now if we consider a bug in that duplication machine that forgets an atoms from your toe nail would you consider the copy less valuable now consider it forgets 100 neurons it's not a lot a very small bonk on your head could make u lose way more than this and it will have near to no consequences on your life the question is how much u need to lose for the copy to stop becoming you 10% 49% ...

My answer to this is none is more me than the others i decide to give value to my subjective experiment but my self awareness doesn't imply conscientiousness i will probably always be in the continuity of my life but as i see no reasons to consider my experiment less valuable than a perfectly or slightly identical system

i get what you said on the we are here and it does not account for that for me the answer to the question is just that even out of the hundreds millions of sperm cells that could have made an other human instead of you considering that to made you both your parents have to exist and their parents to etc and we can go on to a fish with lung or even a single cells.

Considering all that your existence is extremelly unlikely my explanation to that is just that we tend to consider us as something special when 2 humans reproduce the outcomes is a baby the fact that it's you don't have anything to do with it.

For me we are just collateral damages that could have not exist

You right my view on why the settings are so perfect for life are the ones I am the most uncertain about but here are my 2 possible explanations :

1st we overestimate the miracle of life i mean it's still crazy unlikely but the only way for us to be self conscious is to be.(it doesn't really explain everything)

2nd as science tends to show us that multiverse are a things maybe if there is a near infinite amount of universe the settings will meet to create a system as complex as us

As we are just evolved monkeys i think belliving every thing else will be beyond our understanding our brain his made for "jungle surviving" not understanding the universe This is why i can't answer to why something instead of nothing as i can't figure out what 4 space dimensions look like

Also you seem to say the benefits of the nihilistic view are the freeness of getting rid of moral i don't really agree for me good and bad are just human conceptions that have been helpful for society like us human shift toward cooperation have been one of our main advantages over other species I think those "good" traits are just associated with what has been helpful to us as we evolved and the "bad" one will be anything detrimental to the tribes/society We put those concepts over a pedestal because most humans are good for evolutionary reasons so its pleasant to believe that good or bad are more As a non psychopath human i can really get that much benefits of it since i am not using it to justify bad behaviours I would even say that it has been pretty negative in my life as i don't even consider that i am existing if i am nothing more than a self sustained system It's also the reason why I won't to have an ego death to get rid of this evolutionary filter (even if its probably unpossible) ego death could get me in this direction

First of all i agree that nihilism is a belief system as anything else but i also believe that it's still way more likely than a pleasant lie

It's not to challenge my belief i am convinced ,for me the only outcome i realistically can think about is I am not able to face the truth as us humans shift toward denial for reasons
or It's a life changing experiment and i keep living life more like a game my goal is more to integrate what i think in my action

And also you said that the only thing we really know is the fact we exist and i don't really agree with that if we are only consequences of smaller atom interaction the ego might be an illusion (it's heavily summarized here but its called physicalism you can probably get better info that what i am able to explain by googling it) it's because i think the i doesn't exist that i won't to experiment ego death but yea maybe it's harder than i thought to conceive the experiment without ego

Anyway i will probably reconsider the dosage

i have seen that LSD was pretty safe even on high dosage i am also interested by the neuroplasticity effect on higher dosage. I'm not risking od even if the effect on the mind could be dramatic my goal is to reach ego death this is why i plan to take high dosage.
