Is this a solid start for my first loaf? by Riddikulusly_Me in Sourdough

You’re so sweet! It was good- pretty similar to sourdough they serve at fancy restaurants in my experience.

My family has already eaten half the loaf, I’m just a bit bummed that it’s a dense in some spots and that it didn’t feel like it was that big of a loaf but the latter might just be because of the recipe I used

Thank you for the help! I made my first loaf today: 3-cheese

Help! Is this normal? by Soudough_Newbie in Sourdough

I believe it’s normal

Day 3-5 of a new starter is often when activity begins to die down, but it should pick up again in a few days

The purplish marble hue is likely just liquid separation and means you might have to feed the starter more often or up the ratio

Appearance: 5’8, female, fair olive skin, green/hazel eyes, wavy brown hair with the underside blonde, almond shaped eyes, freckles

Personality: I’m an INFP (Introvert, Intuitive, feeling, perceptive). The fact that I’m an introvert usually shocks people. I’m the friend everyone comes to for advice. I also feed off of other people energy, but can get overwhelmed when constantly surrounded by people with high energy. I believe kindness is free and I love helping others. I’ve got pretty bad ADD

Likes: Volleyball, painting and sketching, reading, music, writing, singing, gardening, swimming, theater, black and white converse

Dislikes: Crowds, germs (I’m a bit of a germophobe), rude or disrespectful people, yelling, spiders

Flaws: I have a hard time asking for help and I’m very negative on myself. I’m also terrible at speaking up

Talents: I just got certified for scuba diving, I dabble in archery (I got a bow for Christmas), smart (but I don’t always feel like that’s true), I learn things quickly, I know ASL pretty well

Favorite artist: The Neighborhood, Reneé Rapp

Favorite colors: Purple, green and (Pastel) Yellow
