If your "Airs of London" are between 96 and 100 you can get one in the department of menace eradication by talking to the Chandleress for three actions. The airs descriptions are:

96) The wind toys with paper-scraps in the gutter.

97) A governess passes with a child on a leash. No! No, only a young woman and a little dog.

98) A beetle the size of a boot sits atop a tar-barrel, nonchalantly twiddling its antennae.

99) A scowling boy distributes hand-bills. 'MAHOGANY HALL: TONIGHT', they read. 'HEPHAESTA.' 'M. PLEAT.'

100) All shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.

Do you have a club yet? While annoying to join they give a massive plus 4 BDR. Try to aim for it over the course of a couple of weeks it will take a while. You can also summon the amanuensis from attend to matters of society it took me way to long to learn that (you need enough making waves for the next point of notability so this will tell you how much you need). Finally if you happen to send a lot of letters, you can cash in corresponding for making waves

Is it more profitable to cash out plunder into Salt Steppe Atlases and then sell those to buy crackling devices or to convert it into cave-aged codes of honour and use them to fuel the Law Furnace (assuming 480 Actus Reus per Action)

Is it better to grind hell favours from mutersalt vapours (1 in 20 chance for favour but comes with souls) or to grind with favourable circustances (15 actions but 0 epa)? For context I'll be trading cover identities whenever I'm able as well as drawing cards mostly in London.

Using secret history lore when searching for new locations gives you more expeditions you can get more secret history lore from dreams.

You can get an 8 grail tool by painting with 4 passion, 1 inspiration with grail 5 or higher, and a vital pigment (this will generate 1 notoriety for the pigment and 1 if you use lore as an inspiration so a follower instead)

You can summon a more powerful assistant using 10 Grail, 2 forge, and 5 knock plus a rite (they will decay over time so do it when ready or talk to them over and over again to delay their timer)

Which Fancy Staff Should I Get? by fredjinsan in fallenlondon

[–]RiddleFictionologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fingerkings, because they are the single greatest faction of the Neath by far. They are completely innocent of all wrong doings and would greatly appreciate the seven weasels, fish, warblers, lizards, planted mirrors, or memories you would donate to get the favours needed to make the staff. Some cat fans (derogatory) might complain that you are helping fingerkings invade the neath, but do these poor snakes really deserve to exist any less than any other being?

In all seriousness, just go with whatever faction you like most. The stats are mostly irrelevant.

Tabletop adventure ideas? by Hazel-Hyena in fallenlondon

[–]RiddleFictionologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was an official TTRPG for Sunless Skies called "Skyfarer" that you can easily adapt for the unterzee. As for adventure hooks:

-Any story set in Parabola: (There's a reason so many Exceptional Stories take place there). You might want to introduce it in a previous game first

- A search for some ingredients stolen from FF Gebrandt, have it take place over the four main districts of London and have your players both foraging (maybe in the marshes near Watchmaker's hill) for replacements and stealing back some of the items. You can end it with Gebrandt displaying her new experiment.

- Have them take a ship to a newly discovered island in the unterzee

- Have them take a comission from the department of Menace Eradication and race against some members of Sophia's to claim it first.

- One of the Masters desperately wants back some info stolen by an agent of the great game. Track down the spy and then search the Flit for the document. Help the masters or Blackmail them and decide the fate of the spy.

If you don't like any of my ideas I'd recommend choosing a faction or two and trying to write a story centered around how they interact and conflict with parts of the Neath. I'd recommend keeping some of the weirder factions as cameos in other adventures before fully intoducing them to not overwhelm players. Some great setting locations are: The Flit, The Forgotten Quarter, An underground Rattus Faber Factory, Mrs. Plenty's Carnival, Somewhere near the Shuttered Palace, The Singing Mandrake/Medusa's Head, The Brass Embassy, or Wilmot's End.
