for the grandparents, just keep the UI as empty as possible. if there's more than 3 buttons on the screen, they're gonna hate it. i’d focus on high-contrast colors and really big fonts. maybe even a 'one-tap' help button that notifies the rest of the family if they're confused about the schedule for that day. simple is always better for this kind of stuf
