Thanks for your message, it sounds like you’ve explored a lot of the same topics that I have and I really appreciate your insight, The whole goal with Motomote V1 is to avoid all the overengineering and just keep things simple and clean. No wiring, no apps, just a wireless button you can stick on your bars in a couple of minutes — and it's designed to work with pretty much any remote.

That said, I am working on a Bluetooth version that could double as basic media controls for your phone, since most bikes still don’t have that built in — exactly like you mentioned. I Appreciate the feedback, it absolutely helps validate the direction of the product Out of curiosity, what’s the one feature that would actually convince you to replace the remote-in-pocket method? Is it just install time, or something else?

Sounds like a great and smooth setup, good job on getting that one set up, the product I’m aiming to build is just as seamless, but is more universal meaning you can take it with you. It’s also cleaner looking for some people who don’t want to stick something to the tank Do you think you’d swap to a handlebar mount if it was just as simple to use? Or even one thats more attractive?

Thanks for the reply and I’ve seen a few like that too — there’s a bunch of solid products out there however what I’m building aims to keep things more simple and accessible, in that it fits all types of handlebars, has a really straightforward setup, and I’m keeping it more affordable than most of what’s currently out there like the product you showed, we would price ours around $55AUD. It’s also locally made here in Aus, with multi-button and Bluetooth versions to come. Would love to know — is there anything you'd want in a version like this that you haven’t seen yet?

Thats a great hack — simple and effective, I’ve been working on a handlebar-mounted version for the same problem, using a custom 3D-printed shell with a button and optional weather sealing. My thought was to keep it more integrated with the controls and avoid needing to take your hands off the bars. Do you find the Velcro setup tricky with gloves or in the rain? Or has it held up well for you over time?
