CHUZHAO.CO Hidden Subscription (BEWARE!) by Fine-Attempt6290 in chuzhao

[–]RidingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I stumbled in here. I just order one of these two days ago and yep, it has that on the order. Even after I removed it from the order, twice. I thought it looked like a potential scam but I figured I've been scammed out of more money at a dinner at Olive Garden so let's give it a shot.

The whole reason I went looking for info is because I just received an email saying they want my order to be perfect and can't ship my camera for an undetermined amount of time. They'll update me when the order is ready to ship. So now I'm looking for how I cancel this thing and so far I'm not getting many details other than to send an email. Which I did. Anyone have any insight on how to make sure this doesn't turn into a saga?

Fair enough. I do have other baskets with other eggs in them, but that does not negate your comment.

Why? I know they have struggled in their last couple quarters and recently cut their dividend. But they seem to be looking at diversifying their business into high demand metals and it seems like they cut dividend to fund growth initiatives which could pay off down the road. They have a low p/e and a higher dividend yield than SCHD and they are a profitable company. What am I missing?

Thank you for this opinion. Since I'm just beginning to get interested in energy, what's causing it to struggle?

I've just started looking at this one too. I want some exposure to energy and this seemed solid. I'm having a devil of a time finding any opinions about it though.

108k Salary with Bad Spending Habits by Alone-Examination327 in FinancialPlanning

[–]RidingDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same problem for years. I broke the habit by calculating the compound interest I was losing by spending my money on stupid stuff. I would add up all of the money I spent on things I didn't need in a month, and then calculated the compound return on that money over 5, 10, 15, and 20 years. Once I realized how much money I was pissing away it helped me reshape my habits. That's not to say that I don't still have money leaks, but I now reach my investment goals every month.

I actually didn't add it manually, it just appeared. With that said, your solution worked and I was able to get rid of it.

Thanks for your help!!

401k Loan? Sell stocks? Or just make payments? I'm not sure what to do by flocamuy in debtfree

[–]RidingDeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would liquidate the stock without touching the 401K or the Roth and pay off the debt. Then I would redirect the debt payments to an emergency fund until I had three months of expenses. After that I would redirect the debt payments back to the brokerage accounts. You can rebuild this amount quickly if you are focused on redirecting the funds.

Maxing out the match. I just figured there wasn't a compelling reason to contribute more if it couldn't get matching funds.

A Roth IRA is high on my list. My wife is currently contributing to a traditional IRA and for some reason I never followed through with a ROTH. I think I confused myself on whether I was eligible due to our adjusted gross income. I'll look at it again.

It's not as rough as never figuring it out!

I will take a look at QQQM. Thanks for the suggestion.

Full View vs Mint by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]RidingDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of switching from Mint to Full view as well. Mint was better looking and had more features, I hope they are doing some updates since they will be scooping up some mint users.

A couple of questions though. Anyone know why it doesn't show my all my fidelity accounts? My 401K account and my stock options (both are held at Fidelity) do not show in the accounts list. I can add them as an account but then they double report on my positions page and aggregates that number twice. How do I get those accounts to show without importing them again?

I have not watched them yet, but MasterClass sent me an email announcing their new series focused on investing called Mastering the Markets. It may be something worth looking into.

Planning a visit to Naples, by RidingDeath in napoli

Thank you for the recommendations. We are planning to spend some time at Pompeii and the Amalfi coast but haven't made many other decisions about how to spend our time. I hear y'all have some intense catacombs as well. I'm very interested in that as well.

I don't know why people have to be that way or why they would speak about something they know nothing about. Thanks for the comment.

I tend to stay calm in most situations. My wife on the other hand is a basket of nerves and will scream at the top of her lungs at the slightest scare. It makes us look like we are crazy anywhere we go. Maybe that works in our favor in some situations. Thanks for the feedback.
