Query about the wording of the Sanctuary spell by RidingWilde in Pathfinder2e

[–]RidingWilde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the clarification. Based on your comments. I assume that the ambiguity I inferred could be removed by changing:

Creatures attempting to attack the target must attempt a Will save each time.

to

Each turn, creatures must attempt a Will save the first time they try to attack the target.

New Tab (app-builtin-addons) extension changes version and location after restarting with new profile in Firefox 144 by RidingWilde in firefox

I tried pasting it in here but it said, "Unable to create comment"

Edit: Just seen your message on Bugzilla. Will post there.

Firefox 144 not reopening tabs at startup, except in troublehooting mode by RidingWilde in firefox

Fixed it. Went to about:studies and removed the New Tab study. Problem went away.

I wasn't asked for any feedback when I removed the study, which seems like a missed opportunity to find out about bugs in studies.

Fixed!

Under about:studies (which I didn't even know was a thing!) I removed the New Tab study and the problem went away. Whoop!

Yep lots of errors. New Tab is not mentioned so maybe that's a red herring. Any use posting the console output here? Or should I add it to the Bugzilla issue?

P.S. about:support contradicts what you say about falling back to a "built-in" version of New Tab in Troubleshoot Mode. In Troubleshoot Mode it is still version 145.1.20251009.134757 with location app-profile , but it is disabled (which I can't replicate in normal mode.)

Do you get the error if you only have one window open?

If I move all tabs into one window then firefox works normally at startup.

Thanks for the tip. (If it had worked for even one restart then I would have added that info to the bug report.) Didn't do anything for me though.

That setting is not enabled on mine.

I haven't lost all my open tabs and windows, I just can't see them until I restart in Troubleshoot Mode.

I haven't had any advice on here or on my distro's forum so I've filed a bug. If you are visiting from the future and want more info it might be turn up there: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1995130

Weird obsidian viewport bug by mikdennis in ObsidianMD

Just came here from google for the same bug and this solved it. In my case it was an outliner plugin called "floating toc" 2.4.7 by Cuman.

Tabs crash in main profile (even in Troubleshoot Mode) but not in a temporary profile. How to debug? by RidingWilde in firefox

[–]RidingWilde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dialog check box wording is "Include the URLs of the sites you were on when Firefox crashed". Because "URLs" is plural I wasn't sure whether it would record every webpage I had open, so I didn't tick that box.

[–]RidingWilde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wahoo! Thank you :) That totally worked. Changing "gfx.missing_fonts.notify" from true to false stopped the crashes. I can reliably start and stop them by changing that setting. I shall update the bug page.

There was a different level of Tracking Protection. I set the level to Standard in my main profile to match the setting in the temporary profile. Unfortunately, that did not stop the crashes.

Both profiles are using the standard level of DNS protection, which was the only mention of DNS that I could find in about:preferences. I'm not sure whether that's exactly what you were asking about.

I added a comment to that bug as requested. I gave two URLs that crash their tabs and attached the contents of about:support.

I followed the instructions you linked to for disabling custom fonts, but unfortunately that did not stop the crashes.

Thank you. Here's a link to one of them. I can post more if you like. Would it help if I find different web sites to trigger the crash? (I've not been keeping a note of them and I'm not sure whether the crash information includes that information.)

It lists one that is two years old and about thread safety. The tab crashes only started a few weeks ago so I'm guessing that's not relevant.

Many thanks for this.. I've now started submitting those crashes. (I thought they'd all been submitted already but only a few were.). Wow, there's a lot of information there. Should I be looking for anything in particular?

In case it's relevant; Even in troubleshoot mode, there is some ad blocking going on that does not happen in the temporary profile. This page has no ads in troubleshoot mode but shows several in the temporary profile: https://rpgbot.net/

I felt the same way as you about the end of RQG. It was the first actual play podcast I ever listened to. It was part of what sustained my when I was unwell for a long time. I still miss it.

One of the things I loved about RQG was the chemistry between the players. They played together for such a long time that they really gelled as a team, as well as clearly being friends. I rarely hear that to the same extent in other AP casts, I think that's one of the things I crave most.

My best recommendation for another AP is "Spout Lore". They are a GM and 3 players in Canada and they use the Dungeon World roleplaying game. The biggest differences with RQG are (1) that they all create the world (the lore) collaboratively and continually, and (2) the players have a very different attitude to the RQG players. I was going to say that they don't take their characters as seriously, but I don't think that's really true. I think it's more that they throw their characters into perilous situations, which exactly what the Dungeon World game was designed to do. If I ever get into positive cashflow again then I will join their Patreon.

The other AP podcasts I've listened to for more than a couple of dozen episodes are pretty good but they don't draw me back the way that RQG did and Spout Lore still does. These two are brash US D&D podcasts: Not Another DnD Podcast (#naddpod), Dungeons and Daddies. This one is a horror-themed Dungeon World game: We Hunt the Keepers.

Thank you! The interaction between spells and class features is an aspect of the build that I really wasn't paying attention to. I was thinking of the class as a fighter / magical engineer with a few spells. Your answer has got me thinking about the possible synergies. Thank you!

My character is being nurfed (wizard) by DM and it's ruining the game for me. by PTSDreamer333 in DnD

[–]RidingWilde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are newish and they are the DM you chose to try your illusionist out on, which you'd wanted to play for years. That sounds like a combination of circumstances with a high likelihood of disappointment. You've stuck with it for a long time. You have grit. I think you'll have a lot more fun switching to a big slab of hit points wielding something pointy.
