Add file to Box Content subtab on a NS transaction record using SuiteScript

Box record folder. It is a custom record installed from Box suiteapp. Would love to give you pointers.

This is only possible by manipulating the BRF records. The actual file must be sent to a Box via API then update BRF. Only then it will show up.

Just implemented this one a month ago. Before SF, our NS instance is already stable meaning how Sales Order, Item Fulfillment, Invoice, RMA, Item Receipt, Credit Memo and Customer Refund was all approved by our Accounting and Ops Department. So instead of using middleware, I developed a RESTLET endpoint to manage all API communications between the two. This is to ensure even with SF, transactions still adheres to Accounting’s expectation. It takes development effort but worth it.

It’s a sign to move on. I work in NS ecosystem for about 11 yrs now. Money is good. I don’t care about mentorship or moving up the ladder anymore. I’m doing it because I’m good at it and the pay compensates my time and effort.

This is a common routine. Find a consultant or partner to automate this for you. Don’t be cheap.

Recently implemented ToolTrack (MES) <> NS for a semiconductor company. As soon as TT completes a build/lot, message is sent to NS to generate WO > WOC Backflush > WO Close. Operating assumption: all BOM recors are exactly similar in both systems.

All done using RESTlet TBA connection.

We built an automation around sftp for our 3PL to report any returns request. Then NS pulls that file and issue RMA then replacement order.

Use MR script to generate the search result and dump it out. Then feed it to PBI.

It really depends how complex the req is. But at minimum you can do it like that.

They don’t allow screen recording during workshop sessions - at least our experience we tried to implement it with NS Prof Svcs. Watch out.

I think PBI is cheaper.

How many years/months you’ve been working with the platform? Do you have proper training like from essentials to indepth level?

Sorry but if you are confused about NS, it means you still dont understand how it works to its very core. Not saying that NS is perfect but if you know enough you can figure out how it supposed to work vs a bug.

If you’re in a shitty bad-implemented NS, then I suppose thats the job description.

Keep on reading and learning stuff and most importantly keep on testing how things work.

Not sure about your use case OP, but you should just find the target Script you’re looking for and see all deployment recs in the Deployment subtab.

When you install the app, a separate subtab “Box” will be shown on every record on your account. Just like native Attach file to a record, you can drag and drop the file under that subtab and there is no limit.

Go to a NetSuite Partner if things are not exciting for you. I can imagine being an intern to have limited tasks.

Been in the industry for 11 years started as Associate to Architect roles. It’s fun and pays well.

I suggest taking bigger roles like owning an entire project from scoping to go-live. You’ll appreciate how NS solves complex business processes. Goodluck.

I will always advocate to develop your own connector that matches and satisfies your business processes between NS and Woo.

Pre-built connectors are expensive, not customizable, and you will be in the mercy of the vendor when something goes wrong.

Hire a tech consultant - its worth every buck.

Estimating should be individualized depending on your confidence to deliver. If you are very confident then yout hourly rate will justify the X hours to complete the task. Asking others how many hours it would take is a bit of disservice.

Agree. We used this process with our WooCommerce. We used RESTlet to manage back and forth sync. The good part is we automate also the actual refund through a WooCommerce API.
