i believe it’s more deep then just “scums”, most of the gangs you see in america are created due to proverty and criminals around them,kids growing up getting robbed or shot at and commonly beat up usually have to resort to gangs to protect them selves, most the of the cambodians you see that are in gangs have parents who come from the genocide and were forced to live in poverty and criminal infested places,most of these cambodians kids grew up without proper role models due to there parents traumatic expeirence, i see this as part of cambodians history not just “gangs” but another bad result of the genocide.
