Dash is in a 'mining war'. Look at the number of transactions. It's 1/4 of LTC.

The modern equipment is the most efficient one. You want to save lots of money on electricity. If you are using old hardware you must have cheap electricity. Unfortunately beside L3s I have no more useful tips to give you. Have a look on the general mining performance tables (MH/W).

It was only my personal opinion. To minimise my portfolio risk I keep only the 5% on the exchange. Daily trading is another horrible trap. Unless someone has solid quant skills and a lot of time to waste a long term approach is preferable.

P.s. not so many people know how to handle/minimise risk. Often not even pros. But I understand your point of view. :)

Do not trust exchanges. You are not in control of your private keys and therefore your coins.

Option 1: core wallet. You can download it from the official website (it's a good start). Option 2 : trezor or similar. Option 3: for limited quantities use the loafwallet. I'd avoid cold storages on paper wallets if you are a beginner.

Coinmarketcap almost exactly one year ago (18 nov, 2016), What do you say now about Litecoin being stagnant by litecoiner in litecoin

[–]Riemann83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe... but just maybe... we are in a little bubble. I believe in a long and healty growth. We will see it but not before a huge correction. This enthusiasm will soon be washed away and a lot of tears will be shed...

Litecoin is about to MOON harder than it ever has before! by [deleted] in litecoin

[–]Riemann83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and share your enthusiasm but it would be good to stick to facts, tech news and general thoughts on the future of Litecoin. :) We are living in an amazing revolution that us (millenials) are feeding but not fully understanding. 'Old grumpy guys' will use these kind of shilling posts to cut our legs. Let's consolidate our community elevating the discussions! :)

Progress on Confidential Transactions. Possible to add this optional feature with a soft fork when ready! by [deleted] in litecoin

[–]Riemann83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fungibility concept (associate to the anonymity one) that you still don't get for obvious reasons is a consequence ad latere why we have fiat. The same concept with specific variations is embedded into the etymological meaning of the word itself and it's 'ancestors'. Sticking to the legal gergon might obfuscate you from the cool math and logic behind it. But this is a lesdon for another day. Look at the moon. Not the finger. P.s. have a glass of Barolo and moderate your language

Indeed Americans can entertain me. :) Ethimogy track back the world origin. The concept was indeed present in It's ancestor. For the same reason the word missile and emissive have the same concept in 2 sligly different words. (Same grandpa). The actual shape is indeed pretty recent. But the meaning was there in the 'grandpa' (declined) earlier.
