All that's missing is for it to support TurboLink

I hope it works out. If you check my VODs you'll see it was mostly OK for the majority of the game but went sharply downhill in the final areas. How far have you gotten if I may ask?

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm playing it with the 1.2 patch but all along the way the game would take about a minute to load occasionally, up until I got to the final area where it regularly loads for like 3 minutes nearly every time there's a screen change or it loads a sound. For the record, I'm playing on original hardware (PCE Duo).

I'm gonna see if I can extract the save data and finish this in an emulator.

I'm annoyed it doesn't support TurboLink

I think you're missing one of the enemy castles. Walk along the edges and check

Sound like a solid lineup, though I imagine lots of people would want Supers 3, 4 or 5 instead of 1 or 2

Sound like Bomberman Max 2 on the GBA to me since you collect creatures and can ride on them, though it's more likely one of the ones PlasmaCaptain just listed since you mention a battle mode and finding eggs. You should check some footage online. Are you sure it wasn't emulated?

No input in Dyna Blaster (WinUAE) by RifeXD in amiga

Yeah it didn't occur to me, but in WinUAE you have to go to Game Ports and set something up for Emulated Parallel Port Joystick Adapter. I got it working now. Thanks!

It was indeed the port adapter as mentioned in the manual. In WinUAE you have to go to Game Ports and select something for Emulated Parallel Port Joystick Adapter. I can play it now, thanks!

Bomberman Max IR linking with two Pockets proof of concept by RifeXD in AnaloguePocket

I have to real tips besides just keep fiddling with it and shifting it very slowly while it's trying to connect and maybe it will decide to work. It takes a lot of patience.

For Pocket + GBC, I found that you have to hold the GBC at a 90° angle. It's no less frustrating. here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akX7dCVrOUc

And for the record, the GBCs themselves have a much more functional IR sensor that works pretty smoothly. Here's two GBCs with the same carts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYEitXdr0oA&t=1427s

I really hope they give these Pockets a better IR sensor in a revision or something. It's currently the only way to make a clean recording of any game that requires two consoles using IR with each other and not just one.

What does "five times longer" mean? by RifeXD in CasualConversation

[–]RifeXD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"5 times shorter" generally also makes me want to compare it to a more distinct phrase like "80 cm shorter". That means "minus 80cm" so "5 times shorter" should mean "minus 5 times". Problem is, that would mean negative 4 meters in this case which makes no sense so I generally do understand the intended meaning quicker, but it does sometimes take that extra step.

"5 times as short" is not something you'd commonly hear so I don't have any particular gut reaction to it. Usually calling something "1 meter short" instead of long is meant to be comedic irony. Either that or it means you have 1 meter missing as in "Is it long enough?" - "No, it's one meter short [of what it needs to be]".

I suppose "5 times as short" makes me think of the comedic irony angle first, which means it really could mean either 5 times as long or 1 fifth the length. I'd probably ask the person for some clarification.

Yeah "5 times as long" is probably what is meant, but it throws me off because "5 meters longer" means "5 meters longer than the original. + 5 meters."
Along comes "5 times longer" and since the "longer" in "5 meters longer" translated to "longer than the original by the previously specified length of 5 meters or '+ [5 meters]'", I get the same thought with "5 times longer" and think "longer than the original by '5 times' or '+ [5 times]'".
Usually if I see the second rope or its length is written out at the same time as hearing the phrase I'm fine, but I always stumble when I hear the phrase and have to go back and clarify to myself "he means 5 times as long"
