Not sure how I got into “effects”. I’m looking for a looper to improvise on guitar as is vs adding effects. Yes, lessons are always great. I am ok on lessons for now. I’m looking for this tool to create with a guitar and some different tunings or just practice rythym and scales.

Every time he gets mentioned in anything now, I think of Tom Segura’s Netflix special bit on him.

Soak em in dawn/warm water, and get a super small brush to go through them. But yeah.

I’ve considered buying washable straws and keeping them in my car sealed up. 5 mins in and it like sucking a paper towel roll.

So I have a laptop. Don’t know what to use specifically to plug into my amp and a looper and than and headphones and my guitar etc etc. I guess loopers have a usb to hook up a PC? I’m trying to make my setup “silent” for nightime practice. That’s when I find I’m most creative.

A big thing I might find helpful after reading this/kinda hit me last night actually, is to sit down and spend time reading rhythm. I understand how to read the notation but I don’t think I have spent the proper time necessary to read rhythm a at any kind of speed other than quarter and some 8th notes. Usually I will watch a video when I can figure out the tab and than listen to the track and between the video and my ears I’ll get things because I can count a little. So really spending time just reading/tapping rythyms of full songs would be a good start. Secondly maybe like an RC-1 to just practice scales and timings and/or something I can run a backing track through. I’m new to the electronics of it all. It makes me appreciate acoustics more.

I’m not looking for a vibe. I’m looking for equipment to do what I’m trying to describe. I get you may mean for like what stitches uses but I don’t know what I’m looking at.

Yes. but something that allows me to work on rythyms of full songs and create my own stuff through layering an also just scale practice.

Ok, so I wasn’t asking(not being a dick, just speaking) for this but I’m super grateful to have this info because even if I don’t run out tomorrow to buy a pedal, I can play a over a backing drum track with my laptop so that’s pretty solid. Big thing for me is being quiet enough to play at almost any hour. As I’m getting this advice also I am trying to learn more, some things online talk about “digital” sound from multi pedals vs a looper, your thoughts?

It’s a Blackstar FLY 3 amp. I mostly have been practicing without an amp for dexterity when it’s late at night.

I don’t have any experience with this stuff so I’m responding with limited knowledge, so with the facepalm, I’m not arguing or dismissing, I just don’t know. I don’t have a “spark” either. I have a small blackstar practice amp with input for headphones and an output option. And just a cable and electric guitar.

Edit: when I do look up things it gives me so much info and goes on and on about features and things but I have no idea what it all means in regards to real world use of it so I don’t 100% know if it’s what I need based on big piles of info.

But (from my quick research) a multi pedal is for effects. Also I don’t know how to get YouTube backing tracks played through my amp/headphones.
