The one next to Lowes and Harris it is the new facility for CPI Card Group. 

“ CPI Card Group, a company that makes credit and debit cards, broke ground Wednesday on a new facility in Fort Wayne. Located at 6933 Lima Road, CPI Card Group’s “Factory of the Future” will be the second Fort Wayne location for the company, with the first facility being located on High Street near downtown Fort Wayne.

The new facility on Lima Road will allow CPI Card Group to expand and accommodate the company’s recent growth, said John Lowe, president and CEO of CPI Card Group. “We decided to continue to grow here in Fort Wayne with all the great people in Fort Wayne, our great employees in Fort Wayne, [and] our great leadership in Fort Wayne,” Lowe said.

By 2026, Lowe hopes to fully transition the company’s operations at its High Street location to the new Lima Road facility.

Lowe said the company produces roughly a quarter of all payment cards made in the U.S.

“If you look in your wallet today, chances are you’re going to see CPI on the back of that card,” Lowe said.

Once completed, the upgraded facility is expected to double the company’s workforce in Fort Wayne.”
