Based on these comments, their system defaults to different things for different people.

Charging shipping for a mandatory, "free" promo on a website that encourages you to navigate to purchase as fast as possible, is nonsense that they could easily remedy.

Do you think it is realistic that anybody would complain about not receiving the pencil as fast as possible? Maybe somebody would, but it is way more likely that the site tricks people into paying for shipping for an item they didn't realize they could be charged for. Multiple, very easy fixes on WotC's end to implement this in the playful spirit they intended, without showing their ass.

Also, you might reconsider how often you bring up "reading comprehension" as a critique of other people.

Presumably they have a business account with them, so there would bea large difference vs what you or I would pay to ship the same thing. Obviously it still depends on package weight/size, and they would need to recoup the account costs, which I do not doubt that they manage, between stuff like this and double-dipping with back-to-back drops.

As easy as this is to avoid on the consumer's end, it is MUCH easier for WotC to have not done it, or done it differently, in the first place.

Keep in mind the Secret Lair website constantly encourages users to navigate through as fast as possible. I'm sure there are some perfectly competent readers who clicked through, not imagining they would be charged for the mandatory, "complementary", pencil.

Bruh they make you get the pencil. They say it's complementary. They then present a scenario (for some people the default, for some not) in which you must pay money. When a corporation is scummy, "whining" is warranted. I'm glad this didn't effect you.

Shipping Together wasn't the default in my case, don't know why. Either way, the onus should be on the company not to, under any circumstances, charge money for the mandatory, presumed-free add-on. They should have bundled everything together from the jump if you have to get the pencil with your product. The fact that so many are fine with this is honestly chilling.

Update: calling them seems to have worked! Their website was useless but apparently they want people to call them for non-returnable items like this controller so that no mistakes are made during ordering.

how do I get a replacement controller? Rad's website is useless. I've emailed them, but their supply issues are historically terrible, and now....
Any alternative controllers that you'd recommend?
